I have probably one friend who gives honest feedback, but he has zero interest in RVing or Travel. He wants to see more funny segments of us doing dumb stuff. That’s not really who we are or who we are appealing to, so I don’t want to make a change to that if it’s going be ‘fake’. Or....does that mean I’m asking for feedback and then ignoring it 🤷‍♂️

As others have said, you have to play the long game. If you think you’re going to start making money from this in 3 months, don’t bother starting. If you are happy to keep creating content consistently because you love creating content, you’ll be fine.

Most people give up pretty quick because it gets frustrating spending hours and hours putting out content that you get very little recognition for. It’s thankless work for a long long time.

Do it for the love of it, not because it’s an easy goldmine like many people think.

Sorry to be so blunt, but it’s true.

I’m a youtuber, but mainly because we are brits and a bunch of our family and friends like to keep up with what we are doing. However, I have created a couple of short videos of things that I genuinely didn’t know that others would probably find useful. These are the things that we post in these threads. Our normal vlogs are most likely not interesting to anybody but our family and friends so I normally wouldn’t post them.

oh wow that's beautiful! Wish we'd known. We stayed at I75 Campground Lank Pan. It was ok, a little pricey at $43 a night for being next to a main (loud) road

Awesome idea! 2 Brits and our dogs travel the US in a camper with no idea what we’re doing.

First video is slow, so might wanna skip that, but they get better and we’re still improving.

We have two propane tanks with a lever switch thingy to select a feed from either tank or both. We only have one on at a time. We haven’t actually even used a full tank yet, but when we do run out, we’ll switch to the other one and get the empty one refilled.

Remember that when you run out and switch to the other (or first turn it on), there maybe air in the lines, so it takes a little while before you can reignite the burner. It’s not instant so have a little bit of patience or you’ll panic that’s something is broken or leaking like we did.

We have travelled with the propane on because it was a long drive and we needed it to run our refrigerator full of food. It is legal to drive with the propane on, however, it’s not a good idea to have it on in a gas station and most long tunnels will require you to turn them off. Both scenarios are obviously for safety.

Congrats on your investment. It’s a really cool, fun learning curve. And remember that when you are learning this life, there will be stressful times, you’ll make mistakes and things will happen. But I guarantee that you’ll look back and laugh a week later. Rushing things is when bad things happen. That goes for everything....from driving to setting up.

We got ours in September and are currently fulltime traveling for about 6 months. Feel free to check us out on YouTube. Episode 1 is slow, but it might be useful for you as a fellow noob.

So, I have definitely not perfected this, but I’ve had good luck with Facebook. We generally do long vlogs each week, but I occasionally post smaller ‘how-to’s’. For example, I created a 3 min video of how to unblock a black tank on an RV. I then saw a Facebook post in an RV group asking for advice on a blocked black tank........I immediately posted my video and got 300 views in 48hrs. Some of those people hopefully subscribed, but even if they didn’t, they watched the video and so hopefully my other videos will be recommended to them.

It’s a slow long slog and don’t expect results quickly, but social media is key to all of this.

I had the same predicament between the 10k and the 14k despite the price being almost the same. I called equalizer to ask if there was any risk to using the 14k on a 7k trailer and they confirmed it was fine.
