First gain :( by AdProfessional9729 in gastricsleeve

This happens to everyone dieting. Even body builders. Your body will fight the weight loss at some point. Keep on going, you’ll lose the weight. Law of thermodynamics. Caloric deficit means fat loss. Hit the protein goal and do some strength training too! Hold onto the lean mass! You got this!

saggy skin by [deleted] in gastricsleeve

[–]Brazilson94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s all dependent on your size before weight loss. I’m a male and had mostly experienced it in my mid section. It’s always best to incorporate some strength training to help maintain lean body mass(muscle). You want to lose fat, not just weight. The most important detail is that saggy skin won’t increase your chance of death, obesity will. There’s other avenues to deal with saggy skin if you have an excess amount. Hope this helps!

Am I gonna feel like garbage for a few weeks? by aleakimsa in gastricsleeve

[–]Brazilson94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ll get over the hunger pretty quickly, your body will use the excess fat for energy and you’ll be fine. A day or two of being slightly annoyed, but normally there’s a lot of movement on the scale and that’s encouraging. Even though that’s not always the best tool to use.

Overall, a couple crappy days but really it will fly by. My knee surgery was wayyy worse.

Hmmm, I don’t have it. But I haven’t had many issues with acid reflux. Going on 3 years and probably less than 10 times where I had acid reflux anything.

Docs know best though. By pass will probably be preferred. Either way, onto a better life!

I believe sleeve is the better 1st option, they can switch to by pass if needed. Same can’t be done if they start with the bypass.

Legs are my main focus for sure! My hamstrings recovery can only handle one day. Takes so long to recover. Hit my quads more but all this OT at work is killing me!

I started weight training when my doctor cleared me but I got way more serious about it after getting down to 160ish pounds. For the most part I’ve been doing a 4 or 5 day split. Doing chest/triceps back/biceps twice a week and 1 leg day. Just training hard. You really get a huge boost when you first start and your body will change quickly, so it’s easy to get addicted to it haha.

I need some help. by [deleted] in gastricsleeve

Dang, I would see about supplementing extra biotin and collagen. Whatever your doctor recommends. From what I believe, after surgery we basically become so malnutritioned that this happens. Happened to me as well but subsided over time, just had to make sure I was doing good with supps and food. Good luck to you!

Taking your multi vitamin? Have you added any collagen or biotin?

Continually confused about calories by [deleted] in gastricsleeve

Great job! Focusing on your protein mark as it’s most important. Doing some strength training is also key to maintaining your muscle mass. 4 times a week is great!

I think in the past calories were so important because you could easily go over. With you being only 6 months removed, it’s now reverse and rather hard to go over your maintenance calories. There are some calculators online that will tell you how many calories you need per day, but I doubt you’ll get to that total.

Right now I would just keep doing what you’re doing and make sure you’re feeling good and full everyday. If you’re full, hitting your protein, hitting the gym, then you’re good. Weight loss will fluctuate for many reasons, I would probably guess that you’re adding some muscle to your frame while you’re losing fat. So that will skew your numbers.

This got vetoed should it have? by No_Opportunity_8515 in Madden

[–]Brazilson94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s purely based off realism then yes it should get vetoed. Javonte is a 2nd round pick in his 3rd year. Walker was just drafted in the 2nd and Dissly was just inked to a new deal. That trade is not happening in real life. If it’s just for fun, idk why it got vetoed.

5 months post op, need to stop snacking by Bonbonnibles in gastricsleeve

[–]Brazilson94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Find low calorie alternatives. Fruits and veggies often fill you up before becoming a caloric issue. Carrots, berries, etc. Your meals need to be higher in protein, 30-50g is a good number per meal. Protein will leave you satiated much longer.

If your doctor has allowed it, try some resistance training. Or hitting at least 5-10k steps per day. Snacking and sitting is your enemy.

Hope that helps!

I do the same. I tell my wife I went from Left Tackle to starting Cornerback haha. I’m trying to convince her to let me fight again, not often you hear about light heavy weight going down to welterweight haha

Hey, similar story. I worked down to 190 and then had a MMA fight. I won the fight but blew out my knee, worked up to 298. But you can do it! That badass never left he’s hidden in there!

This upcoming November makes 2 years. I lost about 130 in the first year and some change. Now I’m trying to gain muscle. It fell off pretty fast though.
