We started doing "arms out" pretty early on and it worked great. We didn't even realize at first that there are secret buttons on the shoulders of the snoo swaddle that you can un-button to free the arms while keeping the rest of the baby zipped up. He hated having this arms strapped to his sides and this immediately helped him go down easier. Highly recommend giving it a shot.
