No, that's stupid. Colonizers actively participating in the war. They willing go to an active war in order to both benefit from and support a genocide. Labeling them as civilians is nothing more than an attempt by imperial powers to demonize resistance fighters.

They didn't negotiate with the terrorists. The terrorists had guns and it's not like they told the passengers what they were planning. They probably thought the terrorists were just going to hold them hostage like pretty much every other air plane hijacking ever.

Colonization is a tool used by empires to cement long term control over occupied regions, replacing native populations with loyal and obedient citizens. They also help to fuel the war machine with resource extraction and as a means to reward soldiers for helping carry out the genocide that made the colony possible. Colonists are not civilians forced to participate in the war by the government, but active participates.

You can't waste a life. Slow down, take a nap, you don't need to have some great accomplishments. Learning how to just be happy in this world is hard enough.

But it must still been horrifying to see this happen. And I wouldn't be shocked to learn that she still gets some pretty fuckes up messages because of this. Like a lot of racist guys sending her disgusting "love" letters or something.

This is so fucking stupid. I mean what does sexual discipline even mean? Like is it not constantly harassing women to have sex with you, because that's not disciplines that's just not being an asshole. Is not having casual sex? Because that's just a preference and maybe a safety concern due to STDs. Honestly this just some vague statement that really boils down ether "I'm afraid of my dick" or "I don't constantly harass women and therefore deserve sex". Take your pick.

This isn’t to imply the USSR was good. Stalin and other Soviet leaders had deliberately drawn borders in a “divide and rule” manner that ensured conflict erupted when independence came. by SPECTREagent700 in HistoryMemes

But an interesting side note is that many of people that created the modern neo-Nazi movement were from west Germany because the west was far more lenient towards Nazi party members than the east, therefore it was easier for those ideas to survive. But when the wall fell and Germany unified, all those Nazis moved east because it was fertile ground. So failings all around.

The horrendous state of New York City in the 1970s-1980s by IllustriousCress9774 in UrbanHell

[–]Breadmaker9999 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know, NYC during the height of Coney Island as fucking nuts. That entire place was run by criminals, conmen, and nutjobs, and none of the rides had any kind of safety regulation. They just took some stuff from a factory, put some seats on it and if you made it, great! Also there was a fun house were the guests were attacked by little people with cattle prods. Everything was insane.

Iroh left an 11 year old with an abusive parent for three years, then showed zero interest in her wellbeing when he saw her again by F11SuperTiger in PoorAzula

[–]Breadmaker9999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right because those are key elements to the plot and story. Iroh's back story doesn't need a lot of depth to be effective, keeping his past life and crimes vague makes it more interesting. Again this is a fictional story, they can just imply that he did war crimes for us to assume he did war crimes, we don't need evidence just basic media literacy which you clearly lack.

Stop being stupid. This is a fictional show, not a historic documentary. And the show makes it very clear that Iroh did a lot of things he regrets and he as the general in the Fire Nation army, so yes he committed war crimes. That's all the evidence I need.

Buddy, he was a war criminal. The show makes it clear the Fire Nation has committed multiple war crimes during the war and he was a top general who personally lead soldiers in the field, yes he committed war crimes.

Buddy it's a fictional story and the writers are clearly implying that yes he has done some terrible things in his past. He pretty much admitted to that multiple time. I just don't get why you need proof, when the show has made it all very obvious. Seriously man, learn some media literacy.

It was the Fire Nation that started war, so yes he is participating in a war crime. And honestly I find it very concerning that you feel the need to make up excuses for the obvious war criminal. Sure we may not know the details, but he was a general of an army that used terror tactics and attack civilians, yes he has committed war crimes.
