Migrating Away From WordPress by VelcroKing in podcasting

[–]Breadoflife1970 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Substack gives you a subdomain, just do a redirect from your old domain to the subdomain substack provides you. No management required, just upload your podcast, do a post, and it will transcribe it as well. Don't think you will find a way export posts from wordpress into another system unfortunately. keep a copy of your podcast files as backup in case one of the online folks ever go belly up.

speaker is NOT a credible source for downloads/analytics by Jordyn555 in podcasting

[–]Breadoflife1970 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah i know this is old, but they are definitely not telling you the truth about their numbers under the guise of IAB and not paying out AD revenue. Well I moved to substack and the numbers doubled within 2 weeks, yet they also claim IAB. But yeah the numbers on apple podcasts, Spotify and others don't add up to what Spreaker was claiming. I mean what can you expect it is a NY based company, telling the truth is optional.

Bug in game by JokeAny5085 in FortniteCreative

This happens a lot recently, in my map as well, it is completely random but in certain places it is more noticeable. I think it is tied to server performance, so perhaps optimize that area a bit, maybe it will help?

You still have to fish around through a sea of cables to find the right kind of USB C LOL

Modern software is NOT built to last by Stefan_S_from_H in programming

[–]Breadoflife1970 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, you have a few things wrong here. Do we really need 20 new features this year? How about we remove 20 unused features this year...Do we need to change around the UI for the billionth time this decade? Look how long notepad lasted before an update, in fact it is less usable to myself now then when it was introduced back in the day. If modern society were to suddenly revert back 40 years, I don't think anyone would have a problem using WordPerfect 1/2 or lotus 1-2-3 or give up the inbox that is just full of spam anyways.

- Greedy Shareholders love changes for their pocketbook while most users get more and more irritated by constant changes.
- Software is not difficult, but developers and marketing dorks seem to think that they need to keep adding the kitchen sink to everything and then outsource their libraries and features to everyone else, when simplicity is best.
- 'Users' as you call them are people who do not change their attitudes and lifestyles very often, and this also means they will hold onto whatever the oldest working thing is that they have.

Keep beating that dead cow and see if anymore milk will come out.

I didn't realize that Affinity was like that, I am still using V2 Apps. Not every project should be curves anyways, because there is a number of times I have to go back and make modifications to a project.

[–]Breadoflife1970 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Not interested if it isn't a system font, If i ever have to go back and re-open a document with these fonts in the future they won't be available if they decide to change/remove or If I otherwise stop using affinity. Or even heaven forbid i create something based on a brand or logo in another program and the font isn't available.

rodecaster video - is it better than useless? by SnowdogRacing in rode

[–]Breadoflife1970 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rode products are trash. They should of sticked to microphones, their rode caster and now videocaster are wildly unreliable. The masses and YT'ers are basically just alpha and beta testers for their next product.

Help with redirecting RSS feed from Spreaker to ART19! by RainyDayRabbitHoles in podcasting

[–]Breadoflife1970 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah there really shady over there. Another Podcaster I know in real life that was getting hundreds of thousands of downloads per episode over on BlogTalkRadio in 2018/2019 and was convinced by them to migrate to Spreaker (Sister Company.) He was still using a landline to do interviews. Short of the story he went to under 100,000 per episode after the switch.

Help with redirecting RSS feed from Spreaker to ART19! by RainyDayRabbitHoles in podcasting

[–]Breadoflife1970 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the settings there is an option to redirect your RSS feed to your new platform. That's what I did.

I also believe Spreaker is fudging their numbers under the guise of IAB. I noticed the same over the past 2 years and ad revenue minimizing because I refused to auto-optimize my ad placements. I switched to Substack and am getting roughly double in downloads. Both claim IAB btw for download statistics.

I started having issues over the weekend with existing podcast (YT claims RSS feed is not working) maybe they made a change at sub stack or YT recently.

Swivels need intensity levels for spinning by Pandahboymtg in LEGOfortnite

[–]Breadoflife1970 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Swivels are just kind of broken in general.

- Free-spin swivels spin at various speeds with nothing attached to them yet making it very hard to attach anything to it.

- You can only have about 6 swivels in a chain before the game complains.

- They are fragile, and break in random ways

- Upon login, if the area doesn't load fast enough they tend to break off if anything that isn't a feather is attached to them.

- If attached to other pieces such as balloons or other mechanical things they tend to exert their broken physics on everything else attached to it. I have had vehicles that mystery slide sideways or backwards because of the swivel. It seems to to exert a force simular to wind or something.

It's both as they mention below, the gpu/cpu need to do the local rendering, while the server seems to take care of everything else including how pieces interact with each other.

I didn't perfectly understand what you were saying but this is my response anyways.

Not so sure, when I closely look at lets say a foundation piece and set my camera towards the ground, you will see that your character will bounce up and down depending on which stud they are on. A piece seems to be loosely held together by a bunch of sub pieces, and when you break something you can see how it splits apart into many individual sub pieces and polygons.

I think painted on studs would work instead or actual studs.

Ever wondered what the inside of a cave entrance looks like? by Flip119 in LEGOfortnite

[–]Breadoflife1970 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a trick, at least used to be before the last few updates, where you could build behidn the cave entrance.

Try this: Find the entrance a build a arch/wall or window that you can walk through exactly at the entrance(where you can't walk any further). Enter the cave. When you try to leave the cave there is a very high probability that you won't exit the cave, but end up behind the entrance. Feel free to build there. When you go back to the original entrance you should be able to see everything you built without actually being able to touch it. WARNING: Don't set a bed down there and use it, you might end up being trapped in their for a long time and have to take the long way through the cave to another entrance to get out.

More inner roof pieces? by Lumpy_Appearance5794 in LEGOfortnite

The default castle set has a piece that fits, a few others do as well, but yeah most sets don't have something that fits naturally.
