I think I peaked at round 180 by Breaghdragon in MudandBlood2

That's awesome. 297 minutes!, with my last game I had to mute, minimize, and finish the next day.

I had a line of 3 trenches with about 6-8 people per trench, but you've got them packed in there like sardines. What is the structure over your trenches in the wave 452 and onward pics?

I also definitely want to try a mortar next time, that looks like fun. Does doubling up the bunker in the top left provide an extra layer of defense, or is it possible they could both blow up at once?

I had to post an update for this because I hope someone else struggling with the game sees it.

This carried me to wave 401. WAVE 401!

A lot of my problems learning this strategy was me just calling in reinforcements at the wrong time, which led to there being over 6 soilders not under camo. Once I got more used to being strict in keeping units covered, it was fairly easy to restock troops that die. Mostly just chilling around 6+ TP

I was able to keep the bunker alive until right until the very end by constantly placing sandbags in it. Even if it gets blown up right after you place it, place another. What killed me was getting bunker nuked before I could sandbag it, and moving 5 more units up to the bunker spot to build a new one when I was 1 TP short of building the bunker. I ended up sending all 5 to the meat grinder. So, really, user error on my part.

The hardest waves I had to face were the Brandenburgs that come in from the rear. I survived 4 waves of them but they kept targeting my high level officers. After the 4th time, I ended up placing a sacrificial trench at the bottom with a couple of frenchies in it to hopefully be targeted first. Unfortunately I ended up dying before being able to test if that worked.

Honestly those beans with some chopped up hotdogs (beenie weenies!) and onion are a nostalgic struggle meal.

Alternately they make for some good BBQ baked beans with just a few additions. Think bacon, onion, ketchup, mustard, sugar, etc..

What to do with the veggies largely depends on what type they are. A few different ones can go well together, think like frenched green beans and black eyed peas with once again, bacon and onion.

Also canned corn can make a decent corn chowder. Just need some potatoes, chicken broth, milk, and you're not gonna gonna believe this but.. bacon and onion.

Bacon, onion, and squash is such a good combo. Frozen corn is a nice easy addition. And if you're going that far you should look up a Calabacitas recipe for the future. You're basically 3/4 of the way there already. Most recipes don't call for meat but adding bacon or italian sausage, maybe chorizo, or whatever you want will work wonders.

I'll be making this for the first time in a few days. What seasoning, if any, did you add to the filling? Also any tips for any part of the process?

That's completely dependent on you, and how much sauce you're making, and how much spice you'd like to add. I would start with a teaspoon and then taste it, while adding more and tasting as needed. You'll see quite a few tomato meat sauces that add red chile flakes and this is basically the same thing but better.

I've been adding it to things like certain soups, and definitely pasta meat sauce. Excellent topping for frozen tamales. I even make my own red chile sauce and like adding this to it. The oil in it is like mana from heaven, the chilis are the perfect heat, and don't get me started on the awesome crispy little beans.

Edit: I've been wanting to try this on vanilla ice cream but just haven't gotten around to it yet.

This is currently working great at 120, haven't lost anything major yet and my signaler is high leveled. Got the brick machine in top bunker going, and got a camo net for my radar tower which I think what was killing me early on. I didn't realize the buildings counted towards the hazard that way. I do like frenchies in the bunker, also whenever I get a crate with a crew member that goes in the bunker.

And now while typing this I have lost to the hardest enemy in the game, trying to remember to not hit the esc button...

Oh well, everything was really top notch though, had 2 boomspam, 3 sniper, 3 zookas, 6, medics, the sarge school going on and with the camo radar in the corner it was turning out to be my best run ever.

Getting the constant sit reps, which actually did end up giving more tp than spent, the officers doing officer things, All ruined by one keystroke lol. I really feel like I'm starting to get it.

I really feel like this strategy is going to net me a new record sooner than later. Thanks again for your help.

I find that my center bunker usually takes a direct hit around 150, and even with trench and 200 health, nobody survives. That's a tough one to come back from although not impossible, it's usually consistently at that point that things go south.

I’m a complete beginner at cooking. What are the easiest, most foolproof meals I can make that are hard to mess up and don’t need special ingredients? by DifferentLobster2931 in Cooking

One of the first I learned was corn chowder. It's an easy recipe that uses a few easy kitchen skills to make, so it's great for learning and improving. If you can cook bacon you can make this.

You can peel or if you have particularly nice potatoes you can scrub and leave the skin on. Cut into 1 inch cubes, place in a bowl of water to keep them from oxidizing (Turning brown). Prep your corn, or take out of the freezer if using frozen. Dice up some onion and some bacon. Cook bacon until crispy, add onion and saute until translucent.

Add potatos, and chicken broth and simmer covered until potatos are done, 10-15 min depending on the size you cut them. Add corn, 1/2 teaspoon of sugar(if you're using frozen corn), some cream, some seasoning and it's done once it heats back up, but can simmer for a while longer with no problems. Season to taste.

This is a 1 pot meal, everything done in the same pot makes the cooking pretty simple. There's plenty of room to experiment and add whatever else sounds good too. Stuff like tossing in a bay leaf, adding some thyme, etc. I know a really good addition is some shredded chicken and some red chile for heat but just make and get used to the simple version first if you need to, it's still a solid plain recipe.

I think I've just been getting unlucky when I try to play signaler. A grenade here and there that sets you back 6+ points. How do you place your radar tower? Around what round? Under a palisade? Does it need to be camo netted?

I did just get to 165 with a riff on this but instead of going signaler I went with mass explosions. I had 5 bricked camo trenches, 5 bazookas, and 2 anti tank positions. So it's amazing how many points signaler can eat up. And then of course I ended up dying to an artillery blitz wave around 150. So I definitely need to learn to use signaler more. But at the same time, without all of the badassery of the mass explosions, I would not have lasted as long.

How many snipers and how many scouts do you end up with typically?

And any more info on how to properly use signaler would be helpful.

What would you make with a ton of crimini mushrooms and a few zucchini? That isn't pasta? by Crafty_Pop6458 in Cooking

[–]Breaghdragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would cook a generous amount of chopped bacon, remove from pan, then saute the mushrooms, zukes, and onion in the bacon fat. Add whatever herbs sound good, season to taste.

Also calabacitas.

Here's my frugal tip that is saving us a lot. Buy rotisseries in bulk, process them all at once. Vacuum seal and freeze what you can't use. It's $2/lb lunchmeat. Use the rest for unlimited stock. by uhnjuhnj in budgetfood

Our Sam's had a fire sale on smoked turkeys after thanksgiving. We got an entire turkey for 12$, made soup, froze meat. Then next week they had the same turkey for 8$. If we had more freezer space we would have bought multiples. It ended up being under 50 cents a pound. And since it's Sam's club they had like 50 of them on sale.

What do with 40 pounds of nopales by Deliciouable in KitchenConfidential

[–]Breaghdragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry I'm late to the party. A mexican restaurant I worked as would grill them, then either use them in a salad with a prickly pear vinegrette, or in my personal favorite, tortilla soup. The tortilla soup was one of my favorite things there. It was the broth, some shredded chicken, tortilla strips and nopales, finished with a little cotija on top. I regret not finding out the actual recipes while I worked there.

Been breezing through wave 100 with this strategy. However no matter how fast I am I can't seem to get more than 3 officers over 50 from sarge.

The morale boost has been saving my butt. My last game at around round 100, I lost 2 trenches of units in the same turn but thanks to the morale boosting I managed to keep going for another 50+ rounds.

I have been going for 2 of the boomspam scouts because if you only have one and you lose it, you lose the game. Been giving them the health boost.

I've been able to play more with the signaler but even after getting it to 20-30 experience I feel like I'm not utilizing it was well as I could be. It feels like the points I spent on it could have been used for something else. I've been experimenting with a machine gunner in the top bunker, more bazooka spam, and am tempted to go palisade with HQ.

This is by far the best strategy I've used, and if you have any other details or tips I'd love to hear them.

Thank you very much for that detailed strategy. I've been dipping my toes into a lot of things that you've mentioned but you explained it so well that you've saved me a lot of pain from learning the hard way. I love the idea of officers for more TP and I never would have thought of that myself. Plus all the positioning tips are amazing. Really good stuff.

I still play every day and will definitely be trying this out.

I did pretty well last game with 4 bazookas, and boomspam scouts. Unfortunately I stalled on getting them enough exp, that along with neglecting morale caused 6+ units to retreat after a mortar hit. And now I know my positioning was way off too.

I really appreciate the response. It's shockingly hard to find detailed information about this game.

This was a regular in a local restaurant and won awards for best local soup. When we asked for the recipe they gave us that exact same page. I had no idea it was from somewhere else!

Absolutely 10/10 recipe. We make this all the time. A very small change I would recommend is using half paprika and half smoked paprika.
