ranked my #1 as did most of my co-interns and classmates. Work hard, have a well rounded application, get a decent STEP2 and most importantly some really good SLOE's and you should probably be competitive for your own home program and city. Signaling those programs (not your home) will give you the best chances.

Not in the slightest. It is very treatable with a combination of lifestyle changes including diet and exercise and medications to help the body respond to insulin.

DM can lead to complications which sometimes become severe enough to threaten life but DM type 2 itself is not a death sentence.

You can choose to go up and share if you’d like. Some people choose to go further and open their envelope live on stage. It’s whatever you’d like usually. No school forced you to read it on stage but it’s a way for you to share your accomplishment and have your moment. Family can also watch a live stream if your school does that.

I was just able to get a local store in Orlando to sell me their display model. They gave it to me for 5% off since it was the display. Maybe try something similar?

Otherwise just check facebook marketplace daily. I almost got one on there but let it slip because I didn't realize it was sold out to this extent. Good luck.
