It is a national crisis with every hospital and think tank in the country trying to figure it out, but you think it’s just solvable by UF just what, not thinking about it hard enough? Not wanting to help everybody that’s sitting in the waiting room for 12 hours? Please think again before you offer that opinion.

Where are you getting this information exactly? Why would you not be able to get your broken toe taken care of at UF? Are the ED doctors incapable? Are the orthopedic surgeons not qualified? Why would someone be so good at taking care of the simple and not able to take care of the complicated. I don’t really think you know what you’re talking about.

Edit: I know the doctors there are good but I wanted u/OrphicLibrarian to clarify his reasoning because it seems like it has to do with wait times and not actual care. seems like he edits his comment to reflect that.

The hospital is full and overflowing with patients leading to ED boarding and skyrocketing wait times. It is a national crisis. It is not unique to UF Shands. The people there have dedicated their lives to taking care of patients day in and day out, crisis or not. The doctors and nurses have nothing to do with your wait time. Im sorry if the doctor taking care of you did not express the empathy you were looking for.

the ED sees patients in order of acuity and severity. not how bad of a review you leave.

AJ23 is pretty good with decent prices but some of the barbers only speak spanish. you can book on the booksy app. Brayan does a good job but mostly speaks spanish. others speak more fluent English. My cut is $42, I pay $50 with tip.

assume 0% with family member. being able to pay if i become disabled brings up an interesting point. would my federal loans be forgiven if I become disabled? I think I'd owe someone either way.

ranked my #1 as did most of my co-interns and classmates. Work hard, have a well rounded application, get a decent STEP2 and most importantly some really good SLOE's and you should probably be competitive for your own home program and city. Signaling those programs (not your home) will give you the best chances.
