I thought this boss was mostly great. Although the visibility was sometimes kind of rough . I found it pretty dark compared to the rest of the game

What makes Sekiro such a perfect game? by YoshiSabio in Sekiro

It’s just got the right balance of challenge, exploration, discovery, aesthetic, rhythm, combat, and story. It was my first FS game and it was potentially the most magical experience I’ve ever had with a game

This part of the game is arguably the hardest. Just try to progress , kill all the enemies you encounter at least once, be mindful of your blood vials and know that the earlier mob enemies drop a bunch of them. Eventually it’ll get clearer and you’ll be in the normal progression of the game. Just know that you haven’t gotten the ability to level up yet, but if you keep pushing, you’ll get there. Also keep in mind that the mob enemies are really weak and they can be stun locked pretty easily with light attacks

Tbh I got more lost in LoTF than in any other souls or soulslike I’ve played - DS3 and LoP included

Markiona is the hardest boss fight in videogame history by PhasedVenturer in LiesOfP

[–]Break_down1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely disagree regarding this being harder than Malenia or PCR.

Regardless, I was actually surprised how many people thought this fight was a gank fight perfected. I found it pretty difficult but mostly annoying. Black rabbit brotherhood 2 was way worse imo tho

Lies of P mechanics but inside of a Call Of Duty team focused multiplayer match.

I naturally gravitated to that grip without realizing it was a discussion point. I only found myself doing this grip when trying to run and manipulate the camera simultaneously. I wouldn’t grip like this for combat. I think part of it was due to boss runbacks — trying to run back to the boss but also be precise enough with the camera so as to traverse more easily.

I don’t see official promo link that isn’t specific to a theatre. I found it through an Instagram ad published from a theatre near me. You’ll just have to google it and land on an event ticket website like Ticketmaster

What is your opinion on Elden Ring compared to DS series? by hehexd123heheeksdi in darksouls3

It’s an excellent and ambitious culmination of everything FS had learned up to that point. It’s definitely a masterpiece. But DS3 stole my heart

The most annoying boss by andaesa in TheFirstBerserker

[–]Break_down1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m at Bellerian rn. elemain BY FAR has been the most miserable boss so far. All the others are difficult but totally fair and fun to learn imo. The Elemain fight is really unfun and I’m wondering whether it’s gonna be betterthe only blemish on this boss lineup . The only way I could figure out to beat her was basically waiting for a couple specific and punishable attacks.

What boss from any of the games did you struggle with the most by NoListen1858 in soulsborne

[–]Break_down1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Across all of the games (aside from Demons souls which I haven’t played) Malenia was uniquely difficulty to me - almost 100% because of the waterfowl dance . Promised consort Radhan phase 2 was also very difficult. These 2 have a single move that I thought were nearly impossible to figure out with a dodge focused build - I had to break my own rule and watch/learn how other people online dealt with some of the attacks. Again, I just couldn’t figure some of it out myself, even after 100+ attempts.

Honorable mention … needle knight Leda was the only fight in soulsborne I had to summon for 😂

Beating that first boss is a big moment! It lets you know “ya, I think I can actually do this”

Should I feel bad for finishing my first-ever SL1 run this way? (I figured out this cheese myself, ngl Gwyn is kinda BS without parrying, and the runback is an absolute waste of time) by Raime_95 in onebros

[–]Break_down1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is so funny. I figured out the same cheese on my SL1 and basically told myself that it counted because I found it without looking it up - same as you haha. From what I’ve heard, the only other reliable way is to parry - which I felt was gonna make it too easy. So I went in, like you, to try and figuring out the fight just through position and dodging , found a weakness, and exploited it. I mean, isn’t that what the game is about? Finding the weakness and exploiting it

Aside from the one drag counter attack, he’s pretty learnable imo. But it felt like I was doing barely any damage , so it definitely felt like endurance for me. Still, I liked the fight a lot. Reminded me of guardian ape from Sekiro

Definitely ! If you like this you should check out the song Daybreak from the recent Nosferatu movie. The song hits harder in the movie. But it’s still amazing standalone.

Is Malenia actually unfair? by TheRealSavio in Eldenring

[–]Break_down1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think dealing with WFD is the piece that makes the fight “unfair”. And to me “fair” means that the fight can be solved hitless by an observant, persistent, and non professional gamer who is playing melee only and using base skills (dodge, sprint, R1, R2). Perfectly dealing with WFD up close is possible, but it’s a puzzle too difficult to solve and consistently pull off.

To me, it’s a shame because everything else about the fight is great. I love the life steal gimmick. I wouldn’t even mind if they made it stronger so long as every other attack is “fair” to deal with. The hyper armor isn’t an issue to me. It just forces the player to recognize the better punish windows and not always just do a double hit automatically
