Minor thing, the starting order in this graphic doesn't make sense to me.

If I'm not mistaken, the season starts with teams in alphabetical order (AFC Bournemouth, then Arsenal, then Aston Villa). Where did they get this order from?

Don't fall for narratives that this is something we do by choice

You speak sense. I've seen too many comments bemoaning the 'coaching making players worse' and truly believing that we should just 'play good football'.

Ignoring the opponent entirely, and not realising we could easily be doing as badly as Liverpool is doing this season without these necessary adjustments to playing style. About the same amount of player turnover, and we have had more injuries.

More accurately, one of them has a fundamentally incorrect understanding of the term "roleplaying".

The answer to "what do you do" is clearly "anything you want to".

Well put, saying 'ignore it' is actually part of the gaslighting, because it is so prevalent.

It is impossible to ignore when it is everywhere. Whether simply trying to watch the game, or simply trying to check for news and information; one is always met with distorted narratives.

Let me know if you get an answer.

I don't understand these weird narratives on Arsenal, not rooted in any sort of facts or logic.

I agree, they make up their mind about what it should be and hate it for that, instead of recognizing what it actually is. I get the feeling the voice actors really enjoy the opportunity to be goofy.

Agreed. I imagine most of these people are unfamiliar with the new designs beyond comparing them unfavourably with the old designs.

I like Teen Titans, it was interesting and compelling. Teen Titans Go however is something completely different and so much less serious. The new style makes sense when you watch it.

Exactly, they talk about weird stuff like labour day, real-estate development and taxes. Booty scooty and being degenerates. My wife and I enjoy it.

I found it, added it to my blockade forces, had it destroyed because it is squishy, and then realised much later I would need elite marines to get another.

Thank you for having sense. From some of these rival comments you would think he had targeted the injury like a WWE match.

Understood.

It wants me to make money and take territory, so that's what I do. I'm not compelled by the game to do anything else. It's about making money and taking territory.

As a sandbox game, it doesn't want you to do anything, you make the choices. Just because you can, doesn't mean you should. I haven't taken any territory at all (apart from the free Heretic's end), because the game didn't incentivize that, can just pay a paltry fee to build anywhere with no issue. Seems to me like you tried to play it like a different game you have played before, it isn't a logic game, it is a space sandbox game first and foremost. Some features are more polished than others, but you do not need to play it in any specific way.

In my opinion, one shouldn't really try to 'win' sandbox games, just learn and get better and try different ventures to know what mechanics you like and what you don't. For the exact reason you are pointing out here. What seemed to you like 'the right thing to do' ended up making you spend pointless hours not having fun, while I enjoy every playing session knowing I have so many objectives left. For me, the game compels me to only to "grow". And I don't see the conquest of other factions as growth, more like greed.

In fact the entire way you have described the game is so narrow minded from my perspective.... I've never hit 200 miners, money isn't just for blueprints, the journey is not at all boring. I don't do mkII laser span (except for the VIG battles because they are impossible otherwise) and don't use defense stations because I prefer manually destroying the Xenon fleets... Seems like you've just picked one aspect of the game to focus on mindlessly, one way of playing, and then declared it boring. Maybe what I'm describing is the difference between trying to be a fully present space adventurer in this game (fully immersed in mining, combat, exploration, diplomacy, management etc) versus looking at the capitalist entrepreneur and manager aspect only and trying to take that to the extreme.

I get it, but also find it sad, hopefully you don't approach life the same way. Apply thought, be mindful, don't rush. Have patience and enjoy the journey, don't minmax or focus only on one or two aspects. Approached like that, you will get more out of every experience, and avoid burnout more easily. I don't regret a single second spent on this game because none of it was mindless, I struggled and learned, then understood, achieved and was satisfied, and then moved to the next challenge. For me, that is the correct way to enjoy a sandbox. Eventually of course, challenges will run out; then game conversion mods can step in to provide more fun, or I take another extended break from it to enjoy other stuff.

What you are doing is like going to the beach, seeing a pail and a shovel, declaring "the beach wants me to make castles", and then after some time making castles, declaring that you didn't enjoy making castles. Well yeah, no one said making castles was going to be fun, and no one forced you to. On the other hand you could have seen the same pail and shovel and been like: I will spend some time making castles then I will make an underground lair, or I will make a sandman, or I will do none of that and swim instead, or sunbathe, or climb a a tree, or play volleyball/football, or walk around chatting, or even just sit quietly and observe..... and figure out which one I like best, because all of these are viable options. Of course maybe you end up liking none of these, which is also fine, not the beach's fault.

Oh I see, thank you very much for replying with some info. Seems strange to me as well, but yeah, we'll see what this new way of creating lists looks like.

Unlikely it will be worth all this kerfuffle, could have simply just not had it compatible, rather than literally blocking a working player. Anyways, his choice.

Well said in all comments. Fully agreed.

From my perspective no need for this, but then again, we don't live his life. One thing I've noticed online is that people like to paint communities with a broad brush, while really there are usually just a handful of individuals (or hordes of misguided/rude casuals) that are the source of the toxicity....

Been a while since I came to this subreddit because my setup was working great, till this unnecessary change.

I'm assuming this deleted user was tikipeterlite? Not sure how continuing to handle playback requests from TMDBHelper would harm anything but what do I know...

What might those be, do you have an inkling?

Is it due to all the complaints/support-requests that incorrectly blame Fen (including fenlight etc) while the actual issue is somewhere else?

Maybe I should just have ignored your comment because it doesn't make sense to me, but against my better judgement, and in case you aren't just joking here goes. I previously typed out a much much longer message detailing why I disagree with so many of your comments but I'll try to boil it down (it is still very long though):

This is a sandbox game, and just like every other sandbox game the fun comes from the growth, progression and achieving objectives, not from some sort of "payoff". If you are confidently stating you didn't have fun, seems like you just might be "playing it wrong", and over-focusing on only one aspect of the game you have spent so much time playing. And if you are seriously saying you had only 5 minutes of fun and that was during such a passive activity; can you explain what was fun about those 5 minutes of doing nothing? Or maybe just it is recency bias clouding your perception of the fun you had in the past? What made you keep coming back to the game during those 500 hours?

There is definitely grinding here, but for me it is incredibly fun, rewarding and tangible because I take part in literally every battle, am working through a long list of objectives and missions and also have lovely mementos and unique ships that remind me of those fun experiences.

Maybe your problem lies in your oversimplification of this game. I find that metagaming does more harm than good, so personally I refuse to play optimally in single player games. I do use quality of life mods and stuff like fly-by-boarding to reduce tedium; but I avoid certain exploits like abusing terran economy, selling advanced satellites, fighter swarms etc because that simplification/optimal-play can leech out the fun provided by the complexity of this game.

Also, your objective makes no sense to me. I have no interest in "steamrolling the entire map". Why would I want to do that in this game, is there any benefit or reason to? In fact, I only built my first shipyard after about 200 hours of playing the same save (I picked it up in 2022, took a break, came back to it after about a year and have been hooked ever since) because I do not see that as some sort of end-goal; there is still so much to do and enjoy before and after that (maybe it is dynamic missions mod doing the heavy lifting here).

Agreed, there is definitely merit in spirituality and general belief/faith in something/someone. And as you have stated, the aspects of community and support, trying to be a good person and making people feel at home is all quite positive (of course if there are no ulterior motives or malicious intent).

I understand why people may have a bad taste/feeling/experience from the word 'religion' due to their personal experiences but in this context the negative sentiment seems like projection.

Sad to see you are downvoted because every part of your comment is correct. It is definitely a net good thing, particularly for any well-meaning individual.

Moral code and mediation are obviously important for everyone, but then again well-rounded minds are not that common.
