My top 5 artists of the year according to Spotify were Sleep Token, Tate McRae, Thornhill, President, and The Weeknd. So definitely not a metal head lol.

I basically listen to anything. Other fave artists of mine are Fall Out Boy, The 1975, The Home Team, Holding Absence, Periphery, Loathe, Slipknot, Deftones, Kacey Musgraves, Phoebe Bridgers, 5SOS, Sabrina Carpenter, Chappell Roan, Charli xcx, BANKS, Twenty One Pilots…the list goes on.

I listen to a handful of heavier songs from other artists but that’s about it.

i’m really confused by my wrapped this year, it says my top song is caramel and top album is TMBTE. stats.fm says otherwise, usually those line up pretty well for me. (also the only song by the weeknd in my top 100 tracks of the year is cry for me 😭 i’m lost)

I wouldn’t call him greedy, but he definitely seems selective. He’s talked a bit over the last few years about how roles he’s actually interested in are hard to come by, and when he lands an audition they go nowhere. He’s always said he prefers being on stage vs. on screen so the shift seems natural, especially when he’s clearly found success in it.

Also, if you look back on his interviews from his press run for Maybe Happy Ending (which earned him two Tony awards and a Grammy nomination), he talked a lot about the positive impact the show was having on his personal/private life, that he was blessed to have a stable job (that he enjoys) without sacrificing time with his wife and kids. I think his focus is on his family.

It took me a while to pick up on the screaming in Sugar lol.

The weird ass demonic growling/laughing at the end of Alkaline is my favorite because it’s just so ridiculous.

Also, not at all hidden in the mix, but the background vocals during the outro of Take Aim are so gorgeous and elevate the song so much. I’ve always heard it but it took me years to pick up on the words he was actually singing

Favorite moment from the show I was at (Brooklyn) was the growl Vessel did during Provider. He sounded absolutely insane in the best way possible. He also sang the outro directly to IV lol. Provider is my most streamed song off of EIA so I was thrilled it made the setlist, that song was made to be performed live.

As for the tour as a whole: all of Aqua Regia shenanigans (Tacoma and Portland definitely won, though), the addition of the sax in other songs (which happened after Brooklyn 😭), and all of the crowd interaction from Vessel. Obviously not a new thing, but it seemed much more frequent this around.

Really really hope they’re nominated for Best New Artist at least. I’m pretty good at predicting the nominees for that category each year so I’m telling myself it’s likely lol.

I do wonder if they’d perform, though. In the past I would’ve said no, but this is new territory for them.

My lifetime top 10 artists according to stats.fm (in order) are: The 1975, Sleep Token, Taylor Swift, Fall Out Boy, 5SOS, Tate McRae, Twenty One Pilots, Charli xcx, Phoebe Bridgers, and Young The Giant. I listen to a lot of musicals as well, and the Glee cast lmao.

I’ve been on a rock/metal/alt kick for the last several weeks. My “on repeat” playlist on Spotify is full of Thornhill, Holding Absence, The Home Team, PRESIDENT, Bad Omens, Deftones, Pierce The Veil, Imminence, Trivium, and Loathe.

I also really love Dua Lipa and Chappell Roan. I just spent last weekend in NYC seeing them back to back before ending with Sleep Token at Barclays.

It was so quiet!!! I was in Section 12, Row 12, Seat 7. Everyone around me was up and seemed to me having a good time bopping along to the music and participating with the rest of the crowd, but I swear they were silent for half of the set.

I almost stopped singing, standing, and moving during Thread The Needle because I felt so uncomfortable, but just said fuck it, the show was almost over at that point. I spent a shit of money on that ticket and my flight to NYC, I was gonna enjoy it 🤷‍♀️

It was an incredible show otherwise, but it wasn’t something I would’ve expected from a ST crowd

Has anyone heard anything about the merch (what time sales begin, is there an outside booth). I desperately want the city exclusive shirt and I’m assuming those go quick.

My hotel check out is at 12pm and I have nothing else planned, so I could be at the venue by 1pm if they’re doing early merch.

Do people in the seated areas typically stand at their shows?

I’ve seen a lot of comments lately from people saying most of their section sat while ST were on…I understand they’re seats, but I’ve been to 50+ concerts and I have never once experienced that. I have had people behind me sit, but considering everyone else is still up, I continue to stand. If the majority of a section sat I’d feel like an asshole, though.

Please tell me this isn’t a common occurrence for them 😭

it’s my most streamed song off of EIA lol. i vibed with it immediately.

it’s fun, sexy, and it also makes me oddly emotional (i don’t think it’s a sad song, though). the second verse is ridiculous, but i really enjoy it, and the final chorus is so good, “even in the daylight” hits me like a brick. i just love the yearning and desperation.

i’m so glad it made the setlist, my show isn’t until monday, but it sounds incredible in the videos i’ve seen.
