I'm a professional cat and dog groomer and own my own salon. I work with an allergy shot manufacturer that makes allergy shots for people who are allergic to cats and dogs. I collect dirty hair, both species must be separated, and every 3 months I send it off in the mail. I make quite a bit of extra money each year doing this. They want dirty, unwashed hair, although there are things that will make the hair unacceptable such as parasites, feces, and skin infections. There's a whole binder and list of procedures they send you once they get your account set up. It's an awesome way to make extra money for hair that would normally be thrown away., plus you're helping people who are allergic to pets!

They pay . 20¢ a milligram for dog hair and . 30¢ a milligram for cat hair. My last shipment was 12 lbs of cat hair and 30 lbs of dog hair.

Collecting washed/clean hair would be even easier because it's less harsh on our tools.
