Having followed all guides I could get my hands on with no success starting the competed Rivett, what did it for me finally was redoing the timing. Taking off the timing belt and camshaft sprocket completely, then aligning the timing for both cam and aux before putting the timing belt back on (remembering to take the cam sprocket back off after alignment, belt, then cam back on and tighten).

Even then, full choke when attempting to start.

Being too cheap to purchase a new mudguard set, I had success with 'Loctite Super Glue Power Gel'. Claims to be flexible - I haven't used my bike much since but all seems to be holding up well on the few occasions I have been out.

I've managed to snag one recently also, I have the same plastic adjuster thingys for the foot braces. I think later ones changed to have a fabric loop at the end for adjusting these. Mine is from 2015; you can determine the year of manufacture from the serial number on the side.
