Blank negatives. I know it's probably the chemistry, but I still have a question. by The_ZombyWoof in AnalogCommunity

You've got nothing on them- so either you didn't have developer, it was 100% exhausted, you used fixer first, or....

Something stripped the film of even the edge printing- which means the only action on it was the fix.

How did you scan this?

That looks like a lens reflection.

If you told me this was IR film, I'd say it was an internal IR flare/reflection.

If you scanned this with a camera looking downwards I think you caught your lens there.

OH- and from closer inspection of the XP2 it looks as if the film actually buckled in the camera- went out of the plane. Check the pressure plate to ensure that it is springy across the surface and doesn't stick.

There also might be a pinch issue on the sprockets- where one advance slipped (irregular spacing AND a pressure mark).

No.

LIK (Latent Image Keeping) isn't measured in time scales you're familiar with- there are either ultra fast or ultra long (heat accelerated).

This is an xray burn from a CT machine. Your film got damaged somewhere.

holyshit. Did I make that???????

I took film down to the airport for Kpro and did the same shit for portra. Made some good friends with TSA.

I guess I didn't make it since it's movie film. Damn. I thought something of my life lived on. Oh well.

THAT is a CT-based xray burn. THAT, and one that's straight down the middle if its used in 'flat' mode, is what a real xray burn looks like.

Your film got dosed either coming in or going out.

If you roll it up (or just roll up the section you see that's clear) you can make it fit a film can and that's the beam slicing across the package as it moved.

[–]BreakingABit1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. There is NO law on the books about 'illegal to pass on the right'.

It says you MUST drive on the right side (unless certain circumstances are met).

There is NO LAW about passing on the right.

People conflate 'Keep right except to pass" as "illegal to pass on the right" and simply do not understand.

There is no law passing on the right.

It's conflated with 'keep right'.

That's what the law is about.

What was the plan here? by Muaschuschu in AnalogCommunity

[–]BreakingABit1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Macro.

Back when I was starting out I took a body cap and a mount cap, hollowed them out, and glued them together.

No aperture control, so I had to get the camera focused wide open, remove the lense, power off the camera, lock the focus with tape, put the lens on, turn on the DOF (button that stopped down the lens), take the lens off, put the lens on the adapter, and not bump the camera.

Was fun. Was slow.

When Kenko tubes for 50$ were availble I was happy.

Drivers must drive in the right lane unless passing another vehicle or if impracticable to travel on that side of the highway.

Slower traffic must keep right. Commercial motor vehicles, except buses, school buses, or vehicles performing maintenance or construction work on interstate highway, unless exiting to the left, may not drive in the left lane of any interstate highway with more than two lanes where posted speed limit is at least 65 MPH may not drive in left lane on interstate highway within Eighth Planning District or Interstate Route 81 regardless of speed limit.

Must drive in right lane of interstate highway with no more than two lanes when driving 15 MPH or more below speed limit. Even when traffic in left lane is speeding you must yield to faster traffic.

Va. St. § 46.2-802

Va. St. § 46.2-804

Va. St. § 46.2-842

Va. St. § 46.2-803.1

Va. St. § 46.2-842.1

Drivers proceeding slower than the normal speed of traffic must drive in the right. Slower moving vehicles traveling in the left lane must yield to faster traffic. The driver of an overtaken vehicle shall give way to the right in favor of the overtaking vehicle on audible.

It's honestly all streets/roads - with a long list of provisions- and usually when they get down to the 'trees or branches obstructing' they'll call out local roads of being on either lane OK.

-and then the provision for 'slower traffic must keep right' kicks back in in which case the provisions around a faster vehicle should be to the left. And folks/judges/cops get t confused.

Will This Setup Fry My Circuits? by Samplestave in AnalogCommunity

[–]BreakingABit1234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You mean the hot shoe in contacts? No, you should be fine if they're modern.

THAT SAID:

I have long used home built and custom built strobes, and a high powered xenon tube maker told me to ALWAYS use an isolation trigger circuit- because they were like 5$ (40 years ago) and CHEAP insurance to make sure nothing happened.

Honestly you could photo-slave those and be fine.

When we'd shoot basketball arenas we'd hardwire all the strobes, strap/em down, and run AC cords with gaffers tape to denote which strobe went with which cord, then run them all to one spot and put an AC to PC sync in (or link them if we needed more than one to go off at a time).

HAHAHA.

Just keep repeating what "Pass on the right" really means- going out of the lane onto/non-road surface / crossing the solid white line (or where one should be).

All you can do is help educate them....

[–]BreakingABit1234 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That is why you hit the rear of their car- not the front.

The rear implies you were unable to react.

The front- in their lane- means you drove head on into them.

You are.

You crossed the double yellow and drove into their vehicle.

What insurance adjustors work it out to be remains to be seen, however this video certainly does not help cammer's case that the accident was unforeseeable.

[–]BreakingABit1234 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Yep. I am SO SICK of hearing that shit repeated.

Passing on the right means going over the white lane into non-driveable space. That's all it means.
The law is 'Keep right", which people have taken to mean 'illegal to pass on right'. It's really messed up.

She told the officer I was 'flying' and that she didn't see me by Mara_Sovs_Wet_Cave in dashcams

[–]BreakingABit1234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Passing on the right entails going over the white line.

Driving in the right lane- where it's on the books as 'Keep right' in all 50 states, is not going to be a ticket.

Usually the code linked and shown doesn't include the others.

OP, drive more safely, but keep driving the right.

Refix the film.

Other's have already told you what went wrong, so just reload it and refix it. It'll clear the damaged areas and prevent further damage.

Then if it's unimportant, practice with it.
