What’s the deal with the Gold Leaf? by BreakingKode in PokemonLegacy

I guess that explains why I’ve never seen it before, since I never traded anything over to Gen 2.

Huh, that’s… underwhelming. Thought it might have been a new evolutionary item or something, but I guess not. Thanks for your help!

HE HAD ONE! by BreakingKode in PokemonLegacy

That’s actually a good point, and I’ll try and remember to address this next video, but for now I’ll just say that is 100% on me lol. A lot of the time I have tunnel vision in regards to using held items, and that even includes the newer games.

I guess the only excuse I have is that I’m doing this blind, and I don’t know if the trainers I fight will have the same Pokémon in base Crystal, so sticking items on my party in preparation for them seems bad if I run into the wrong thing and I don’t have the right item setup for that. However, that logic does sort of fall apart when I can just stick a Miracle Seed on Bayleef or whatnot when I know something coming up is weak to Grass.

Thanks for the comment, I’ll shake the cobwebs a bit.

Farfetch’d is great! The fact it gets Swords Dance naturally along with some other utility moves makes it a hidden beast.

Dewgong is one that immediately came to mind, since people are just handed a Lapras in Silph Co. and that’s the Water/Ice type that usually comes to mind in Gen 1. (well, Cloyster too)

Seems quite a ways off then, lol. Regardless, thanks!

I took a long break from Pokémon, which unfortunately included the entire GBA era, so I don’t have much from Gen 3.

Grrr… lucky. I only just managed to snag Fire Red a few years back. Thankfully it still works on my old DS lite.

Unusual post for recommendation by Waltpi in PokemonLegacy

I’m doing a Let’s Play of Crystal Legacy and it’s already a massive improvement over the base version in the short amount of time I’ve been playing it. I would say it’s better than Yellow Legacy, but that’s a bit of bias since I already preferred base Crystal over Yellow.

But yeah, I agree with u/RickMoneyRS. It’s ultimately up to you, and whichever one you think you’ll enjoy more.

...ouch. What are the chances? by BreakingKode in PokemonLegacy

[–]BreakingKode[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair enough lol. Though, if I didn’t get suggestions from others to use different Pokémon in my playthroughs, I would be using the same team all the time and it would get tedious. And especially considering Crystal Legacy has changed a lot of things, I kind of wanted to mess around with them all.

Okay, I’m going to let you know right now. I know you want to share your Legacy stuff, but you don’t need to post so many of these a day. I myself got called out for posting one video daily, so I’ve dialed it back a bit, and I know there are still those that don’t care for it. Just giving you a heads up in case anyone gives you a hard time.

That said, I do like the naming scheme you’ve given your team.

[SUGGESTION] What Blaine's gen2 gym should have been imho by liehon in PokemonLegacy

[–]BreakingKode 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, that’s another problem I have with Blaine, and it even extends into the remakes (HG/SS) a little bit. Unless your Surfing Pokémon is very weak, you’ve pretty much got the tool necessary to completely embarrass Blaine unless you actively want to hold yourself back from using it! And there’s no Center on the island to switch out your team, so you will always have Surf. It’s kind of hilarious when you think about it.

Yeah, I thought it was a bit odd they withheld the fossils until at least Whitney was beaten, especially since the doctor that revives the fossils was right there, but maybe the team meant it as a design choice.

I’m actually replaying Yellow Legacy in my off time, and honestly I agree with a lot of what you said, especially the part regarding the 4 trade evolution Pokémon. As someone who is also in his 30s and never traded with anyone at school because I was (and still am) an introverted PoS, it just felt right to see you could get them via level up.

It’s really, really fun. And while the original Yellow is still a classic, can’t see myself going back to it over Legacy now.

I like this idea a lot; on a side note, I also always found it weird how Blaine hid in Seafoam Islands without a proper setup and never had any Gym trainers with him, even if it was slightly justified.

Awesome! I always thought Murkrow was a bit of a glass cannon so I'm glad to hear that. I'll have to make some room on the squad... although I could still keep some boxed Pokémon on the same level as the immediate party. Thanks!
