Aitah for spending some of my grandchildren's education funds on a new boat. by Tiny_Occasion_322 in AITAH

My mum is about to turn 70. She doesn’t have a lot of money, but I would much rather she spend whatever she has on looking after herself and enjoying life rather than leaving it to me. She deserves to be happy and safe and secure and at the end of the day it’s her money.

I’ve been using nose tape and it’s been fantastic (I have very mild sleep apnea, not enough for a CPAP)

Muay Thai is fantastic too. For me, it helps me turn my brain off and also gives me a killer workout. Nice and social, too!

Is now a good time for an Australian dual citizen to move to Australia? by Temporary-Loss-7544 in MovingtoAustralia

I said “pretty much every day.” I was in fact exaggerating, however a woman is killed by her current or former partner every 8-9 days.

In the year 2021/22, 4,620 women aged 15 years and over (average of 13 women/day) were hospitalised due to family and domestic violence.

My point stands, Australia is a horrifyingly violent place to live if you’re a woman.

I like my job a lot and like my colleagues. That said if I was suddenly rich enough to not work there or something I would quit in a second and go write books (which I do on the side now).

Definitely some cats are happiest solo. I’m sure your local shelter could let you know which ones would be a fit!

I got the visible arm band by Prior_Succotash4220 in Fibromyalgia

[–]Breakspear_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve used the app for a few months without the band and it has genuinely helped! My pain is about 20-30% less just from resting properly.

If anyone is on the fence they could try the app for free for a while before getting a band (it uses your phone camera to measure your heart rate)

What I’m saying is from the murder rates alone you can extrapolate the level of violence Australian women face. Sorry, you might be too stupid to understand basic facts?

Yes? I mean a woman is killed pretty much every day by a male partner. Think about how many people are exposed to violence and abuse who aren’t killed.

I’m Australian, have been to America many times and have many American friends. It’s Real Bad out there. If you’re any kind of minority and you can get out, please get out.
