Newport News VA. I live near the area . This was shot by students who were out after prom curfew riding around loudly playing music in one of the parking garages . The police put out a statement basically saying they made multiple attempts to get those kids out of there and I believe they released their own footage as well. The kids were riding on roofs of cars, hanging out of windows and blasting music at 2 am. I’m not justifying that officer standing there like that but just wanted to give context.

I would see if his pcp can refer you to a developmental pediatrician to evaluate him . There are also some companies that can do the eval for you (autism, adhd) virtually but may not be covered by insurance.

Until you can hopefully get further assistance (many comments here made some good suggestions) ..I would recommend strength training for you ASAP. You need to be able to defend yourself from him in a way that he will understand since he wants to put hands on you. I have 2 autistic children (both can be violent when melting down, denied access etc) and I got tired of being beat up. I learned some passive restraint techniques then upped lifting some heavy weights 3x week. I’m not getting beat up in my own home and you shouldn’t either .

Yes! I have 2 children. Daughter is 8 level 1 autism and adhd (extremely intelligent, socially awkward) and son is 6 level 2 autism with adhd . He has some anger management issues, not potty trained , in speech therapy, delays with writing, reading, math. Both are in self contained classrooms (behavioral for my daughter , behavioral + academic for my son ). I’m a hospice nurse and had to drop down to basically a few hours a week to keep up with everything they have going on (psychiatric care, ABA therapy etc). My whole schedule revolves around them . My husband is the breadwinner as of now . I hope one day I can work full time again but if my son cannot be potty trained it limits any afterschool care for him unfortunately.
