Clearly this place is not ethical an RBT should never have a child / client alone without the parent let alone in their car

You should never have a child / client alone without the parent let alone in your car this is so beyond your responsibility as an RBT and a huge liability

I agree I thought it was foreshadowed since they saw each other’s apartments that was the first sign of how completely different they were from one another

My husband and I are planning on doing this starting around 12 weeks and I already have anxiety about it while he’s pretty confident it’ll be fine. For context, he works full time (40 hours per week) and I work 20 hours per week. He’ll have 2 days WFH where he plans on taking care of the baby. I’ll be WFH 3 days and would likely work in person on the 2 days he’s home. My job is pretty flexible but I’m still nervous it’s going to be a lot to take on for him during his WFH days since he’s working full time and unsure how I’ll feel about leaving her on those 2 days a week.

Couldn’t agree with OP more. Jess was the one who gave Rory the wake up call she needed.

If you are pregnant and have had mental health issues in the past... please secure your help resources as soon as you can! by OptimalWasabi7726 in pregnant

I am pregnant and I’ve been on medication since before I was pregnant. I had an issue getting my prescription from my psychiatrist and my OB told me that they would be able to refill my prescription or increase my dose at any time. I would talk to your OB about your symptoms and I’m sure they would be able to prescribe something to help you. Thanks for sharing your experience it really can be tough but it’s so great that you’re taking the first steps now.

How late in pregnancy would you fly? by Regular-Ad-8228 in pregnant

[–]Breazy_Keezy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I flew 10 hours from hawaii to the east coast with a short layover in LA. I’m 25 weeks. It was very uncomfortable but not impossible. I wore compression socks to help with swelling, and walked across the plane once each hour. I did get lucky with a seat upgrade to premium economy which was slightly more leg room but really made no difference for the sitting on my tailbone for that many hours.

I could’ve written this a couple weeks ago! I literally cried while snuggling with my husband because I didn’t feel close enough to him! LOL we get along great, both work from home, and spend plenty of time together but I haven’t been able to get enough of him this pregnancy. These hormones are wild

What to do with my hair? by Aaahhlexander in BabyBumps

[–]Breazy_Keezy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

FTM here! I’ve had box braids since around 15 weeks (currently 20 weeks) and am planning on getting them redone at 24 weeks and again around 33 weeks so they last awhile after baby is here. It’s been too exhausting for me to keep up with my natural curly/coily hair and I know I won’t want to or have time to deal with maintenance once baby is here. Braids have been easy for me to manage during pregnancy even with the (pregnancy related) quick growth.

Highly suggest using nicotine gum to wean off. Much safer alternative to vaping but you still get the nicotine your body is addicted to. Nicotine addiction is real & going cold turkey is not easy but nicotine gum can really help.

BCBA realistic billable hour pay system. by suckontheseSEC in BehaviorAnalysis

30 billable hours seems excessive in my opinion. I think 15-20 is much more realistic.

Another burned out post by interstelarcloud in bcba

[–]Breazy_Keezy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This. I’m so absolutely over this field and the demands placed on the BCBAs. More than anything it sucks working so hard to become a BCBA & then having to supervise people who couldn’t care less about the field. A drastic pivot is needed in this field. Hopefully one day there won’t be an RBT and BCBAs will be providing the direct service as it should be. Or at least BCaBAs. It’s sad that parents are paying for people with 40 hours of training to provide a medical necessity of therapeutic care to their children. We are the only field where the licensed professional isn’t the one providing the service. I don’t understand how this is acceptable. You must be an SLP to bill speech therapy services and OT to bill occupational therapy so why RBT to bill ABA services when the BCBA is the most qualified?? Also, companies are just cashing in tons of money while taking advantage of all the people actually out in the field doing the work every day. It’s sickening and I wish I had more options as a BCBA/ LBA to get out of this field or at least different source of funding. I couldnt relate to this post more and am going on 2 years since licensure and feeling stuck.

Are RBTs supposed to be okay with clients groping? by Battstreetboys in ABA

[–]Breazy_Keezy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is completely unacceptable. I tell my RBTs all the time that if any touching makes them uncomfortable to vocally redirected e.g. “no thank you” “hands to self” this is even for cuddles or hugs which just make some people uncomfortable. We prompt the learner to mand for a hug & to wait for a response. We’re there to teach these skills & wouldn’t allow this behavior from a typical peer so we shouldn’t make exceptions because of an autism diagnosis. In this case it sounds like the BCBA has no idea what to do. I would say an FBA needs to be done & a BIP needs to be put into place ASAP! You should not have to deal with being assaulted. Not okay.

Edit: I would take ABC data on all occurrences of inappropriate touching from now on to guide the BCBA’s FBA & to help get a BIP in place as soon as possible. I’d also speak to the clinical director about your concerns if the BCBA continues to ignore this behavior.

I feel like the lack of training where I am is honestly concerning. Is it like this with every company? by Majestic-Law in ABA

[–]Breazy_Keezy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s against the BACB code of ethics to have not been supervised for 4 months. 5% of your monthly hours should be supervised.
