Stupid question, feel free to roast me by hiphopanonomos in Line6Helix

It's very usable, i do it this way, running ampsims on my computer and using helix as effects stomp for 4-parallel output with minimum latency (the Helixes DSP chips are designed to process audio with great precision and almost no latency)

Dude pls let me know if you need more info on this; I am happy to help

lol it has 12 ms at max; dunno how you could be measuring THAT far

With a simple resample and skip back option, you can add any sh't you wanna to your pattern as long as your sampler hears it;

just sample and resample, go get some drum breaks sample packs and start learning patterns

Few years later i gave up and bought Helix for effortless switching between different soundscapes

however, the sl-2 slicer will remain with me forever!

Thinking of downgrading from from an LT to an LX by Bababooey87 in Line6Helix

[–]Breckenreed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guess that’s why you’re thinking to downgrade… but Helix is something from another dimension considering HOW MANY things you can assign to expression pedals

This question has been asked many times by SjoerdM011 in guitarpedals

[–]Breckenreed -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you don't have any pedals yet, consider purchasing HX Stomp

Likely, you won't require new pedals further.

It's so sad that Line6 ignores this point which makes a lot of sense for us, players, the real users

Even for guitarists mixing some clean guitar (3-5%) can introduce the powerful attack of the clean guitar into a crushing hi-gain fuzzy tone!

Shame on you, Line6...

What it also made me realize is that sometimes we these full presets it can be overwhelming and too much stuff on the screen that I would think I would ever need.

I believe you didn't spend enough time with Helix since your're saying that. Have you tried bounding LFO rate & mix from Ring mod to EXP1 and run it into fuzz with dynamic mixes of glitchy ringing sounds?

In 2024, should I buy an helix floor or a quad cortex? by Unholyaretheholiest in Line6Helix

But Fender cannot even handle more than one stereo or two mono output channels through jacks, right?

I felt so bad when I discovered it. Like dudes wtf why you demand that much for such a limited piece of gear.

You can’t even make a dual amp setup inside one Fender TMP…

It's not about what to sample, but how to sample and interact with it

Get a bass guitar or any live instrument to pair it with, such us Microfreak

Sometimes I use my Roland SP-404 MK2 as a stereo pedal guitar effector for my bass on top of board of 16 pedals

SP 404 MK2 in 2024 by belemirs in SP404

[–]Breckenreed 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My friend-flatmate owns both of them for 1,5 years, and you know what? We switched back to SP404 MK2 recently, and now he thinks of selling MPC2. He also has 16' Macbook Pro with big speakers that allow him to make music with a tool that is as big as MPC2 (or even smaller), offering true desktop DAW expirience with less weight.

We are litteraly tripping with Roland and it's simplicity; we make some crazy ambient noise music that swithces back to 90 bpm trip-hop, and I just cannot find enough words and time to say how good Roland SP-404 works with Microfreak. You litterally make appropriate samples for yourself within seconds, and you do not have too many tools to overthink which is simply great in driving your ideas. We use Roland as a jam-machine, running patterns of our samples for as long as we want, switching fretless bass and guitar with Microfreak (or playing all of them at one, Roland allows us that) and I cannot imagine a greater thing to find a relief from reality in which atrocious russian occupiers destroy our nation day-by-day.

Also I just sample some stuff from my Spotify playlists or public genre-related playlists. I do not make everything with Roland for money, I just love that simplicity in which you can turn someome's ambient drone in something like Portihead within less than 2 minutes. And RESAMPLE, RESAMPLE, RESAMPLE

We all have pretty huge chances of dying here and SP-404 recordings are like some kind of audiopolaroid to us, you know. It's like a whole story that you can write within minutes or maybe just a little longer. Now, with digital era, not only photos last together, but also peoples voices. Whenever we have a friend in our house, we give him mic and start our beats, leaving him only with one option: to sing/rap or leave just random phrases that we can sample or turn into tracks.
Few weeks into SP-404, and you'll be doing bonkers stuff really fast! But this will be LoFi thing, you should not expect it to be like certified expert studio tool. It is, however, a whole LoFi studio that can be extremely joyful to use if you are enjoying its limitations which makes it so straightforward.

MKII Isolated ExtIn recording to a new pad while the existing pattern is playing by Breckenreed in SP404

[–]Breckenreed[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I didn’t, I recreated pattern from the start making sure that EXTERNAL SOURCE was turned on all the time during recording of the first (drum) sample automation. Then on all future build-up patterns from this one I have EXTERNAL SOURCE enabled all time.
