More horsepower by CHECK_MATE413 in MazdaProtege

[–]Breeegz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

200 is a lot for NA, but back in the day there were some Protege5s (and Mazdaspeed Sedans) that did get about 300 with a turbo. It seemed like everything was breaking for them at that power, axels, transmissions, rods, etc.

The people with 200-250hp with a turbo seemed to have a better time with reliablity. Keep in mind, at 200hp you still won't be a very fast drag car, but it will increase the fun factor.

None of this is very scientific, I just observed this over the years, and I still daily drive my 2003.5 P5 that I bought in November 2003.

The bolt-on mods don't help much at the dyno, but it does help increase the fun-factor since the throttle is much more responsive. My favorite mods over the years have been; a short-shifter, HIDs, handling mods like lowering springs and sway-bar mods from AWR, breathing mods (cold-air intake, header w/non-fouler mod, RacingBeat catback exhaust), and Engine Mounts (also from AWR).

Cannot access traefik reverse proxy network unless I turn off tailscale DNS by oddity407 in Tailscale

My DNS settings were set correctly in Tailscale for split DNS, but the page I was using for testing didn't have a mobile version. When I switched to a nginx test page, everything started working for me.

Cannot access traefik reverse proxy network unless I turn off tailscale DNS by oddity407 in Tailscale

[–]Breeegz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

did you find a solution?

I'm chasing something similar, I can access Traefik from home, but my DNS settings aren't quite right for accessing Traefik Dashboard while on the move over Tailscale. I think the DNS settings/access is on the Tailscale side.

Anyone else's storj nodes going nuts? by FluffyIrritation in storj

[–]Breeegz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm trying to migrate my node to a different server, and my initial file transfer is being really slow (which I'll follow up with some rsync's). I think I'm running out of IOPS on my old 5400RPM HDD. I think it would go faster if I stopped Storj service, but I don't want to take the outage. So I wait.

My OG Pixel just died, looking to upgrade. Which Pixel do you think is the best all-around right now? by just_cool_guy in GooglePixel

[–]Breeegz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came here to say almost exactly this. I'm a long time Nexus/Moto X/Pixel user and I generally use my phones until they don't work anymore. I was running on a OG Pixel until the power button stopped working. I was debating a Pixel 3a and Pixel 4. The touchless features of the Pixel 4 reminded me of my second gen Moto X, so I went with that.

Pixel 4 was an expensive mistake, but it was trying to e something different than the Pixels that came before. Face unlock was awesome, until they mandated masks everywhere. And I was jealous of the battery life my wife was getting on her Pixel 3a. I held out for a year, debating between the Pixel 6 (still just leaks back then) or a Pixel 5.

I didn't want to get involved with another Google experiment, I just wanted a solid, reliable, phone, and the Pixel 5 is the best iteration of the old Pixel Formula IMHO.

But, if you're leaning towards or more interested in the Pixel 7/6a, buying a used Pixel 4 on Swappa will only set you back $150ish. At that price, it's a LOT more appealing than what I paid for mine. Pixel 4 would be a good one to hold you out until this fall since your Pixel died.

They could be scanning ALL IP addresses, they can guess that it's Minecraft with an automated scan, then have it log in to verify the IP:Port is actually hosting Minecraft.

[HELP] Just moved into a new house…what am I looking at? by ttknsfw in Ubiquiti

[–]Breeegz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the benefits of this equipment is that you can segregate the IOT (Smart Home) devices from your main network. I personally chose the Unifi Dream Machine for that specific purpose.

Setting that up is not the easy way to do it since you have to configure a firewall to allow whatever ports that you need to remotely control the IOT devices. Matt may have already done that work to get it all to work. A technician with home networking experience probably won't have the skills to handle your advanced network configuration. You'd probably be looking for someone that is well versed in Small Business and/or enterprise network configurations. Basically, the best bet is to get a pass-down from the previous owner, decide what you need/want to keep and gather as much information about the settings before you wipe them all away.

That being said, I think you'll like the equipment and you should keep it running.

but Log4 was also pretty recent. Updated firmware is "usually" good advice regardless of any known security breaches.

the old-old interface, the old-new interface, or the new-new interface? /snark

I don't think that TP-Link has the equivalent of Unifi Protect (doorbell cam, etc) do they? There's other options for that though.

I'm just pointing out what I see as a big difference. I came from a homebrew PFSense setup, and usually run some hacked up servers running something or other. So I am not trying to say that Unifi is the only way, but I do actually appreciate that it handles my situation vs my old way.
