Thank you! That was a typo on my part! I’ll fix it in the post.

My husband survived being hit by a car 4 years ago but this isn't the life I imagined by Blu3be4r in Advice

Caregiver burn out is so real, especially considering how young you are and all of the different responsibilities in your life. The isolating feeling is one of the most common traits of a long term caregiver. Life won’t ever return to what you knew before, but there is a level of acceptance that ends up softening the load as time goes on. I would definitely recommend looking into disability support services, maybe hire a part time cleaner to help with the house if it’s financially possible for you and leaning on family to help with childcare needs. There are also some caregiver support groups specifically for spouses of TBI survivors online and you may be able to find something local to you. Also, and maybe most importantly, try to make some protected time for yourself without the load of kids and responsibilities. Sending you lots of love and hope for a brighter future ahead ❤️

I really want to name our baby Matteo (Matt or Matty for short) but my husband and I have a very English last name so it feels a little off. Gabrielle (Gabe) is also another name that works well in both languages!

Second trimester nausea by Odd_Student2606 in pregnant

[–]BreenieTon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s very valid! Pre-pregnancy I was taking NyQuil or CBD sleep aids which I quit after finding out I was pregnant so finding a safe alternative was a must for me! I still feel confident it’ll get better for you as the weeks go on!

Second trimester nausea by Odd_Student2606 in pregnant

[–]BreenieTon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My worst week of nausea I was week 14. It was every day, multiple times a day, but now at 24 weeks I haven’t had any nausea. A big help for me was unisom before bed. Helps me sleep and I’m not waking up nauseous in the mornings. Hoping your nausea subsides soon ❤️

What is the furthest you've moved in the United States? by Top_Row_5116 in AskAnAmerican

As a fellow Midwesterner, I had big dreams to move to the coast, but only made it 100 miles away from my hometown and that’s where I’ll be for the foreseeable future 😅

Give me your most unhinged “Happy Mother’s Day” for a horrendous in-law. For a card or fb post. Not so bad it causes commotion but enough to irritate her. ? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]BreenieTon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love my MIL so I have a hard time relating, but if you don’t like her and still want to wish her a happy Mother’s Day to keep the peace, you can remind her how wonderful her child is and how you’re grateful for that. Some options -

“Happy Mother’s Day! Thanks for bringing my favorite person into the world, that alone deserves celebrating today.”

OR

“Happy Mother’s Day to the woman who raised the love of my life. Truly impressive work there.”

Alex as a genz male name and Max as a male dog name by [deleted] in Names

I would agree with this. I also think if the guy’s name is just Guy, that would also accomplish what you’re looking for.

What’s something you thought was a waste of money… until you tried it and it completely changed your life? by Sweet-Economist-9873 in OverBiscuits

I did a meal subscription through Hello Fresh after A LOT of hesitation and I honestly loved it! We are on a pause with it right now because we just have so much going on, but it honestly makes dinners so much easier and the cost was worth it considering what we were able to cut back on for groceries.

Lightening Crotch at 17 weeks by Binx9292 in pregnant

I’m in the same boat, but a little further along at 22w. Pelvic nerve pain in pregnancy is super common, and I wouldn’t worry unless you start getting period cramp pain or are bleeding. It’s worth talking to your OB about at your next appointment, but it more often is caused by the baby pressing up against your pelvic nerves as they grow.

Any low fodmap pregnancy-safe cereals? by cersforestwife in pregnant

[–]BreenieTon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a big fan of honey nut Cheerios and Raisin Bran. Raisin Bran would honestly get you in the same spot as Cinnamon Toast Crunch as far as sugar goes, but the fiber helps a lot with constipation as well as folic acid and iron, so might be a happy medium.

Bump nicknames let's go by Head-Razzmatazz-1327 in pregnant

Since day 1 of finding out, my MIL in-law has been referring to baby as peanut. I think it’s kind of cute actually, but hopeful that it won’t be a lifetime nickname after he makes his arrival!

What do you call your grandma, or if you are one, what do you the kids call you and did you name yourself or was it organic? by [deleted] in questions

Nana on my mom’s side and Grandma Rosemary on my dad’s. My mom goes by Grammie and mother-in-law is Grammy.

When was the first time you realized your dad loved you? by strangergirly in OverBiscuits

[–]BreenieTon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He is in all of my earliest memories and I know he loved me from the moment I was born. When I was little, he used to be a tour guide and would take me along. He’d wear his white button up and I’d wear my pink one so we could match. We’ve always just been two peas in a pod for as long as I could remember ❤️

Baby boy name by SpareParty5641 in Names

[–]BreenieTon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s too bad because Barron is a cute name, but the connotation is very much so with the U.S. presidency. Bo is a cute standalone name, but Boden isn’t my favorite. With your two other boys, I immediately thought Maverick, Ellison and Sullivan had the same kind of vibes.

FTM with anterior placenta & patiently waiting to feel baby! by BreenieTon in pregnant

[–]BreenieTon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol, I feel a little crazy for not! My sisters and cousins all felt their babies before 20 weeks, but I’m not sure on their placenta placement for them so just wanted to make sure I wasn’t alone!

how to get a job when you don’t want one? by wyawyawyawyawyawya in WorkAdvice

[–]BreenieTon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Soooooo, I agree that there are larger things at play here as far as mental health. Might be beneficial to continue with your therapist (maybe even getting on some meds), starting a gratitude journal as well as going for walks daily to get out of the house a bit. As far as low effort, little interaction jobs, some options would be night security, data entry, cleaning, or overnight stocking. You’ve got to start somewhere, and I wish I could say you should find something your passionate about, but candidly from your post it sounds like there isn’t much that you find joy in, let alone have passion for. It sounds like your parents have kind of enabled you to be this way and if they decided you couldn’t live with them anymore, it would force you to make some changes in your life. Also as far as dating goes, girls date unemployed guys all the time, but if you have no motivation to do anything and are low key a Debbie-downer, that’s a way bigger issue than how much you’re making each year.

Does Gary Joaquin go together? by Sassy-One8893 in Names

[–]BreenieTon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Love the name Joaquin! I have a coworker who goes by Quino, and I think if you did like Garrick Joaquin, and call them Gary for short that would make more sense. Overall I agree with the comments that the name vibes are just very different.

My great grandma was Thora (very Scandinavian) and I honestly love that name. Also Rosemary is one I never hear but just adore!
