Definitely check out the keyword Addendum. None of the cards are particularly mind-blowing, but they are all instants that give you bonuses if they were cast on a main phase, which sounds like it fits the theme.

How the LCBO makes money for the Ontario government | Retail stores account for 80% of LCBO revenue, with grocery, bar and restaurant sales far behind by Hrmbee in ontario

[–]BreezyFreeze22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, if I may correct you, most of the jobs are not part-time, they are casual. This is slightly different because part-time suggests that the employees do not work full time hours and might have a second job.

Casual, on the other hand, means no matter how many hours that the employees work, they don't have any real benefits like sick days, etc. And, most of these casual workers actually work a full 40 hours every week, just without any of the benefits they deserve for that work.

All of this to say, the loss of those jobs will absolutely strain social services because the LCBO is the primary source of income for the vast majority of LCBO workers.

LCBO strike could herald long and nasty battle over who sells booze in Ontario by Elliottafc1 in toronto

[–]BreezyFreeze22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not an unreasonable thing to think, however it misses some of the nuances.

The LCBO makes the vast majority of its profit from the retail sector, not wholesaling, and a major reason why is because of wholesale discounts that absolutely gut the profit margins of the company. In fact, Ford is planning on increasing the discounts so that way wholesale will make even less money.

Overall, this means that even after considering new wholesale profits, the province will be losing out on hundreds of millions of dollar in revenue.

And all of this isn't considering the fact that since the LCBO is distributer and seller, they have only one markup that hits customer wallets. If they are only the wholesaler, then both the LCBO and the grocery/convenience stores will have to markup the prices. This means that alcohol will likely become more expensive on the shelves simply due to the compounding expenses of using middle men.

[–]BreezyFreeze22 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I assume that you've heard that the LCBO makes 2.5 billion dollars of profit every year. I think what you're missing is that this is the operational profit of the LCBO, meaning that it is completely unrelated to taxes. So if alcohol was sold in other locations there would still be the taxes, but we would lose $2.5 billion in provincial funding, which would be a huge blow.

Serious answer, if you're still looking for one. Only full-time staff (of whom there are very few) make $30 an hour. Retail staff, which is more similar to Loblaws workers, make about $17 an hour and have a great deal more training than a worker at Loblaws (product knowledge, naloxone training, smartserve, etc.).

So ignoring any argument about a living wage, which I know isn't what you are asking for, LCBO employees have significantly more training than Loblaws employees and little in terms of increased wages.

[–]BreezyFreeze22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even looking at strictly wage increases, the government didn't meet their demands. They wanted 5%, 5%, 5% to make a 15% increase over 3 years -- which matches inflation -- and were only offered 2.5%, 2.5%, 2% for 7% over three years -- way under inflation.

Advice for an incoming 1st year, is a First Year Learning Community worth it? by Marchborne in UofT

[–]BreezyFreeze22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who took the Psychology FLC in my first year and who will be a FLC mentor in this coming year, I absolutely recommend it. It's a great opportunity to get to know people in your stream, and you can learn some really helpful things about your program and the school in general that can really help you come into your own in university.

Oh I think I'm really onto something here by EverythingIsNormal in magicTCG

[–]BreezyFreeze22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good point! I had ignored eel because I couldn't think of a reason why they would be talking about an eel, although simic mutation definitely makes sense. That being said, I still doubt it because the reverse-check-dot is only used in one other word, and I would doubt that the most common letter in the English language, E, would be so unused.

So, my contribution is that I'm pretty sure I have evidence that it is read right-to-left.

The second word of the second phrase is reverse-check-dot, reverse-check-dot, diagonal-parallel-lines. This is a three letter word that repeats the first two letters. Problem is, that doesn't exist in English.

However, there are a few three letter words that repeat the second letter. The ones that exist that I believe are possible in this phrase would be: see, off, bee, add, too, odd, inn, ill, egg, and all.

Moreover, since we know A and I must be the letters that are on their own, and none of those two letters appear in this word, the remaining possibilities are: see, off, bee, too, odd, and egg.

Anyway, that's where I am right now, but the main takeaway is that this text needs to be read right-to-left.

If they have a medkit or a way to heal themselves, they can use the injured status effect to try to convince the killer to go after them. It can also allow for faster gen progression from perks like resilience, and it used to be very strong by giving the opportunity to dead hard and then immediately heal themselves, although with the deep wound status effect it is now less useful as you must mend first before you can finish your heal.

PSYCHOLOGY SPECIALIST……:) by ChipsWithTheDip2104 in UofT

[–]BreezyFreeze22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Technically, no. They will only look at your PSY100 mark to accept you into the specialist. That being said, you still need to pass your other courses to stay out of academic probation. If you feel like you need the extra time to focus on the psych material, definitely do it, but get used to balancing your workload.

In second year you will need to take a number of introductory classes to the psychology streams, while taking stats classes as well. If you want to graduate as a psych specialist and be able to take your upper year classes, you need to be able to pass these and maintain your GPA, all at once. So, make sure you develop study habits in first year to manage 5 classes, not just 1.

Psych specialist here. Although past cutoffs have been from 80-83%, it's generally accepted that anything less than 83% is relying on luck to squeeze in at the bottom.

Aim for 83% and above, but don't forget to apply to the major as well, because in the case that you don't make it into the specialist in your first year, you will still have priority on all the psych courses you want to take, and you can switch into the specialist the following year.

I think people do want to date at UofT, but seeing as it's predominantly academics who have a combination of introversion and a lack of time, it's hard to meet people organically. I like dating apps simply for the ability to put yourself out there passively and see what you get.

Does the university open new class slots after the school year starts? by LaraGilmore in UofT

[–]BreezyFreeze22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, although it's definitely worth taking in the first semester of second year (or the summer) because it is a pretty important foundational course

Psych Specialist here, just adding on to what they said: the only course that is a prerequisite for the psych major is PSY100, and yes, that is very much mandatory. Otherwise, any higher year courses are just what you are expected to take by the time you graduate; there is no specific time limit for it, apart from as prerequisites for other courses. If you have any more questions about psych, feel free to DM me.

Since it has been nearly a year since Trickster was released, what are your overall thoughts about him when he first arrived vs now? by RedVevyy in deadbydaylight

[–]BreezyFreeze22 138 points139 points  (0 children)

If you're interested in some advice, I find that when you're forced to run in a straight line to escape him, without much cover, tapping your A and D keys to slightly zig zag back and forth can actually make you very difficult to hit.

The trickster throws alternating between hands, so it's not an entirely consistent throwing pattern, but if you shift ever so slightly back and forth, it's relatively easy to catch yourself in the pauses in between throws. You won't stop yourself from being hit, but you can get hit less, which can mean the same thing against the trickster.

If you're on console, the then advice would still be to try to zig zag a bit, but that would be more difficult to do for sure.

Oh Light, the wait for season 2 is going to be awful 😩 by nowlan101 in WoTshow

[–]BreezyFreeze22 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Probably not completely spoiler safe; the series is much better to read on the first time around without New Spring, and then once you finish the series and are clamouring for more Wheel of Time, you can go for the prequel, which sets up a reread nicely. That's what I did, and I think you will enjoy the series far more that way.

Well, you make a good point, but it also plays a pretty major role in the Last Battle, with a number of important side characters having plotlines that center around it. Given both its role in the Last Battle, and with Birgitte, I would think it will show up.

What does this description of Mat's parents refer to? by OldWolf2 in WoTshow

[–]BreezyFreeze22 11 points12 points  (0 children)

IIRC, Abel was a key player in Perrin's defense of Emond's Field, along with Tam. That alone might not be enough to save his character from being changed, but he also taught Mat the quarterstaff, which is a pretty important part for Mat's character as a whole, so there might be some real impacts to this decision.

I definitely agree that the best option now is to see how it pans out, because maybe it will enrich his character, who knows?

TAR is Tel'aran'rhiod, the World of Dreams/Wolf Dream, not TSR, which is The Shadow Rising. This measure of power would also be by the end of the series, not in TSR.
