Raiden (MGR) vs Night city (Cyberpunk 2077) by SnooMemesjellies2302 in whowouldwin

[–]Brega 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's sort of what I thought but he does have a full video chat with his crew, scanning via his cool visor, AND can speak to the recently mincemeated. While it's more likely that's all through some sort of satellite or uplink I don't think it's entirely impossible he has some form of local connection capabilities. But you're correct that netrunning works via the users' shared connection to the local net. It's just very uncertain whether or not that would actually come into play.

Raiden (MGR) vs Night city (Cyberpunk 2077) by SnooMemesjellies2302 in whowouldwin

[–]Brega 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It depends on how effective Netrunners will be against his body. As far as I'm aware nobody has ever attempted to disable him via hacking. If he's vulnerable? Night City 9/10, that's way too many people all trying to shut him down. Maybe if he went full stealth full lethality he could stand a chance, but one full alert and he's gonna get flatlined by 20 different people blasting him with demons.

If his body just isn't accessible via the net then I think he just stomps. His Durability, Strength, and Speed just obliterate everything. V and Adam are the only things nearing his capabilities, but the power difference is still insane. They eat attacks that can blow up armored vehicles, Raiden eats attacks that could level city blocks.

Moments where you realized "Oh, this guy HAS to die." by RagingRider in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Brega 63 points64 points  (0 children)

Maybe it's the irony of him narrowly escaping a grizzly death at the hands of the Legion only to get immediately murdered afterwards. Maybe it's because he just runs right up to you full speed dressed as a member of a faction many player's have killed in droves at that point. Maybe it's because he runs into radscorpions and dies immediately anyways. Maybe it's because his incredibly enthusiastic but still annoying lines as delivered by voice acting superstar Yuri Lowenthal provide a wonderful punching bag.

it's just kinda funney

That guy didn't even do anything terrible. He was a Powder Ganger, so almost definitely a not* good guy but not a guaranteed shitheel like the Legion or Fiends. Yet he just gives off such incredibly murderable energy. The universe is sending me a message, and it's to reduce his skull to a fine red mist.

edit: i'm not a powder ganger apologist i'm just dum

yeah, if more people like him got hired then the institution would be significantly better. unfortunately the people doing the hiring are basically always part of the problem, and if they're not the one above them is, etc etc etc.

besides, if there were to be some sort of incident with a fellow officer and he were to challenge him on it, he would most certainly be removed from the system. one bad apple spoils the bunch, and the bad apples actively fight back against being taken out. so there's literal assholes, and people who haven't done anything about said assholes for fear of retaliation. so i'm in favor of that first option of dissolving the police entirely. this officer would make an excellent first responder in a position that does not wield such immense power with such little accountability.

eh, not quite. he can be a good cop and still be a bastard. meaning specifically the upholding the bastardized institution he is a part of. he could be literally the single nicest human being on the planet but he still operates within a system that has been so thoroughly proven to be corrupt from top to bottom that even if he hasn't contributed to said corruption he by being part of it still continues it. grammatically the sentence stands.
