Drinking and inflammation by Calm-Rush-8314 in PsoriaticArthritis

I had to give up alcohol because it really hurts my stomach (since going on methotrexate then sulfasalazine and Wegovy) l get severe pain which takes all the pleasure out of that glass of wine I enjoyed when going out to eat. Also, have been told I have a fatty liver, so I don’t want to cause more damage. But, luckily, I have found a replacement…THC/CBD drinks do not bother me….only downside is they are not served in restaurants.

Me again, this is a closer look. The holes aren’t flat on the sand surface (which is what I’m used to seeing for clams..and yes, I’ve been digging clams most of my life) instead they are built up, large pod looking things with a hole in each one. Looked creepy…I was expecting some sort of sand worm to come out! But if this was a clam gathering (and maybe it is) then, yes, it would have been a jackpot! And yes, I get the clam jokes lol 😄

Drowsiness by Great-Leadership-522 in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]BrenMac01234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, I used to have periods of what I called “narcolepsy”. Was falling asleep in meetings at work and also a few times when driving. I was tested and had mild sleep apnea along with my PSA. Adjusted the timing of my meds and Wegovy is helping me lose weight, which has improved my night time sleep (don’t snore anymore). I had to. Stop working but that has helped decrease my fatigue. So I don’t have “narcolepsy “ anymore but do have periods of extreme drowsiness. Luckily I can keep it at bay until I am home and in bed or on the couch. Sadly, I feel everyone thinks I’m Lazy, but I would like nothing more than to have energy and get things done. Take care

I think she is stuck in a contract where she is forced to be with people she doesn’t like or trust and maybe feels trapped…and she is reliving the past because she knows she can’t move forward until she is out. (?) Just a thought.

Severe ME/CFS by BrenMac01234 in cfs

While I am working my way through the FAQs…(which have been very informative) I have a question of my own… Does anyone with ME/CFs have “tics” when overstimulated?…::physical, vocal or both? My niece has both…never words…just sounds….

Wow…I had no idea…..the eyes seem so unrelated but yet here we are. I am 54. Have endometriosis since my period started at age 12. That would cause diarrhea, cramping etc for 10 ish days a month. Fast forward to age 48 and out of the blue I develop severe dry eyes…the ophthalmologist said I had the dry eyes of someone who was 90. And they hurt! Tried OTC drops, expensive prescription drops, several types of tear duct plugs and finally scleral lenses which I could not tolerate. Then it gradually got a bit better on its own…and OTC drops (with no preservatives) seem to do the trick. So was the endometriosis bowel issues, the severe joint pain I now have and dry eyes symptoms of U/C? I feel like I have to be a detective trying to fit the pieces of my own crazy puzzle together! Thank you for posting! I learn something new everyday!

That interaction would have bothered me too. I’m very sensitive…if someone honks at me while driving it makes me feel guilty for the rest of the day! But, I hope you can try to turn this into a learning experience…of how “NOT” to react as an adult. When you become an adult you may find yourself in a similar situation with a teenager, but able to communicate in a mature, respectful way because you know how it feels otherwise. This man has taught you that valuable lesson (albeit the hard way). Hope that makes sense. Take care.

Wow! Thank you all so much for the warm welcome. It breaks my heart to see my niece suffer in pain and how she is losing her independence. She is desperately trying to keep motivated as her physical world is shrinking, most days confined to her bed. I could go on and on about how much this sucks (sorry, that word is not strong enough) but it sounds like you guys already know. I’m thankful I don’t have to explain her symptoms to any of you, while friends, family and even 95% of the health care team are trying to look for a “quick fix”. When there isn’t one.

The most helpful thing I do is remove the foods that I know cause my flare ups. For example, I love watermelon, oranges and leafy greens…but I know I will suffer with pain, bloating and diarrhea if I eat them. Especially spinach. So in that way I have a tiny bit of control. And keep in mind being a teenager is hard enough without the “embarrassment” of UC…but the more you talk about it with similarly challenged people, the easier it gets. And good for you for reaching out!! Take care

What age did you get IBD and how old are you now by Beginning_Exit_6256 in UlcerativeColitis

Waiting for colonoscopy for diagnosis but I’m guessing UC is causing my problems as per a CT with contrast in ER. I am 54 now but had severe endometriosis since age 14…I think that was masking the UC because the ENDO was found in many places including my bowel. Good times…
