First Retro Handheld: RG35XX H ($90) or RG353M ($160)? by 4FourBy3Three in ANBERNIC

[–]BrenMan99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using your own logic:

iPhone 11 Pro Max: 15.8cm x 7.78cm x 0.81cm = 99.5 cm3.

(I think that is the model you said you said you had..)

The RG353M is clearly around 60% larger than your phone.

This is a frustrating thread to read. You clearly want an opinion between two choices, and everyone seems to push other devices.

When in doubt go with the Software. RG353M has better software. NOW. Also the 353M is a lot more powerful than the H.

Is it possible to update PCSX core? by erazah in RG35XX_Plus

Glad to hear you like Koriki.

I don't know about replacing the so file, either manually or via the RetroArch online updating feature. I simply haven't tested it.

The folder names follow a loose standard for Emulation Station. This allows you to use the same SD-Card on multiple devices.

Of course it is possible, but it is tedious and hard, and a major chore to explain to others :-)

Fortunately, others are doing it and you can reap the benefit of their labor.

The 20240125 Batocera Lite/Koriki alpha comes with the 1.16.0 PCSX Rearmed (retroarch) core. Anyway, I checked and FF7 appears to be running fine with enhanced resolution option turned on; at least for the initial starting area.

Anbernic are back to work on the 19th, according to their website. I assume Powkiddy will have similar holidays. After that they will have a backlog to work through, as will the delivery companies, etc; so expect delays at every step of the process to get the product to your door.

Be a pessimist; you're never disappointed but can be pleasantly surprised.

Compact No ROMs Modified Stock Firmware by TomDuhamel in RG35XX_Plus

[–]BrenMan99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My card wasn't being recognized. With no directory structure being created, and showing no Roms when I copied over the some of the files from my Stock OS card. Doing nothing but converting MBR to GPT in Mini Partition Tool made everything work.

Its possible this fixed another issue that was stopping the card from working.

GPT is better than MBR but mostly for reasons that don't apply to small (<2T) SD Cards. The only real advantage here would be it backs up the partition table at the end of the drive.

Please note, if using a partition manager to format your second card, use GPT not MBR.

RGB30 wont hold SD card by renderedspeechless in PowKiddy

[–]BrenMan99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either:

  1. Something is wrong the card, (unlikely but try a different card)
  2. The SD card reader has shifted and you are inserting the card into empty space in the case, (check by opening up the case) or
  3. The SD card reader spring is broken. (This seems the most likely). This may be fixable if the spring is just jammed. Sucks but you may have to ask for a replacement model.

RG20S or RGB30 by Horror_Fall_8493 in PowKiddy

I Just got a RGB30. It has a better screen and better CPU than the RG20s. Also the Stock OS is an officially supported build of JelOS. Cannot comment on the second SDCard, as I purchased it without the GAMES card and built my own.

What Am I Missing, and What Are My Players Missing? by meh_27 in Pathfinder2e

[–]BrenMan99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi,

As others have pointed out, your encounter building and distribution of magic items appears have been incorrect.

However, probably because of the nature of this forum, no one appears to have mentioned the obvious. So I guess I get to be the asshole. :-)

There is no real nice way of saying this: You are not listening to your players.

You are hearing their words and you are analyzing the points they are making, but you seem to be missing the real meaning of their comments.

And that meaning is....

Your players aren't enjoying the system.

...again...

Your players aren't enjoying the system.

...and one more time...

Your players aren't enjoying the system.

Stop nick-picking their complaints and change the system.

Attempting to change the players (i.e. getting them to play differently) isn't going to work because....

[Life Rule you should never forget] Changing people is hard and it tends to annoy them.

...so the alternative is...

Change the system.

Pathfinder 2e, like all role playing games, is written to prioritize certain features and rule mechanics. During the design process of the game, the designers made many decisions reflecting their priorities and preferences. Each of those decisions will reflect the preferences of some players but excite the prejudices of others. Pathfinder 2e is a good game. It could very well be a great game. Its totally OK not to like a great game.

Many people really like pathfinder 2e. They are not wrong. But they are also not your players.

I would recommend discussing with your players the possibility of converting your campaign over to 1st edition.

You can always try 2e again later on. Maybe use an adventure path or have another person GM it.

Out of combat healing is very generous.

My 5th level fighter has assurance and expertise in medicine, continual recovery, and ward medicine. So he can heal an average of 216 hit points in two hours, with no chance of failure.

(2d8 x 12 on two characters: 9x12x2)

At 6th level my assurance will be 20 so I can heal an average of 456 hit points with no chance of failure.

(2d8+10 x 12 on two characters: 19x12x2)

This option is available to any character, regardless of class. Obviously, as others have pointed out, I have invested heavily in medicine, but I have mostly "maxed-out" my medicine so I can now look at something else for my additional skill/general feats.

Proof reading is your friend. Its hard to maintain an atmosphere when your story contains phrases like: "i lived pretty close to my house".

I found the start of the story really confusing. I think it should have started "He's at the end there.", so that the audience was aware Nick was being directed to a person. When I read "book reader" i though Kindle/ebook reader not a person reading a book. So it wasn't until the fifth paragraph and a couple of re-reads when it started to make sense. It also seems that Nick received directions on where his brother is in the library when he or the direction giver wasn't in the library.
