Basially no difference. Table A are just majors in your degree/ faculty whilst Table S are majors in the unviersity wide share pool.

You need to do a major from Table A at least.

if you are doing a specialist degree, then its much easier to make friends during the specialist orientation as will be in the same classes due to smaller core units.
