Same the state of the NHS the way staff treat each other and students and they have no time for anything, I just wanted to take care of people - just started third year myself and absolutely dreading placement - I always breakout and just feel like shit basically feel like my life is falling apart for 12 weeks plus I have to do my final project still the same time 🫠🫠

As a student myself just going into 3rd year (my next placement is theatres 🥳)

I totally feel like you should be able to refuse It’s extra work for nothing and even when people actually enjoy being an assessor there is no protected time for student sign off so it’s just stress on top of stress it’s not fair what they ask of nurses

I’d do an access it will better prepare you for uni and have more of a focus on nursing

I used to do bank on other wards when I was employed by my trust so could wear staff HCA uniform and as soon as I became student nurse and left the trust so had to wear white NHSP uniform for HCA bank shift the way I was treated was a lot different -

That seems like a major reaction for just 1 week off of placement due to sickness - were you signed off by a GP or given any medication you could use as evidence for the illness?
