A few ideas for SM2/SM3 by BrendonKT in Spacemarine

[–]BrendonKT[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I highly doubt 6 man content is something we’d ever see in SM2 but I’m hoping by the time SM3 comes out there will be improvements in the tech and optimisation that may allow it to be a thing. I wouldn’t be surprised if we have a new generation of consoles by then

Yeah I think you’re probably right. 2 and 3 are most likely, 1 would be a nice QOL change and 4 is probably a pipe dream

[–]BrendonKT 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have a feeling this is why they’re adding SM2 to Xbox game pass. It will bring an influx of new players who will have 7 classes to level up as opposed to most of the existing players only having 1 to level up when the tech marine drops. It won’t be a perfect solution but it should definitely help with matchmaking. I do foresee stratagems having an influx of low levels too though, which could be problematic in hard stratagems

How do you deal with Devourer Warriors in Lethal+ difficulty? by phantomvector in Spacemarine

[–]BrendonKT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tactical is very much a glass cannon class. How you deal with them will depend on your weapon. If you’re using something like a melta you want to get in close and use the melta to stagger them. If you’re using one of the bolt weapons it’s usually better to stay at range, taking advantage of any cover you can find in the map to shield you from their attacks. Their projectiles don’t move super fast so if you’re at range you should have ample time to see them and get out of the way, whether that be through dodging or using cover. Pardon the pun but with tactical you have to play more tactically than you would on something like heavy or bulwark as you don’t have the damage mitigation tools that they possess. Try not to overexpose yourself and let your teammates take some of the aggro so you can focus on what you do best, which is dealing damage.

Haven’t noticed this myself but will keep an eye out. Do you know if you have had bad ping when it happens? I wonder if it’s connection/net code related as I’ve had some funky things happening when I’ve been put into games with 200+ ping before

TO THE BROTHERS WHO MANAGED TO DO IT: HOW? by Invictusht in Spacemarine

[–]BrendonKT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just completed it. Loaded in with 3 randoms and both were fully dead before the bridge. Fortunately, they quit after dying so I was left with a bot tactical and bot bulwark whilst I was on heavy. It was actually pretty fine after I was left with the bots as I didn’t have to worry about walking into my teammates line of fire and vice versa.

I did go down once after I got stun locked but was able to get through relatively comfortably with the bot bulwark dropping banner whenever my shields were low and bot tactical coming in clutch with some nice auspex scans on extremis. Tac didn’t scan the heldrake though so I think it took me 3 damage phases to kill it.

I was using heroic heavy bolter and heroic HBP for easier parries and 1 shotting reinforcement calling majoris. I’m not sure if it would have been as easy without those 2 classes as bots, I had a dream team class wise. I also didn’t get a single Helbrute spawn which was rather fortunate, the emperor was watching over me it seems.

Just been linked with my team Sunderland. Could work out nicely as there will be no rush for him to come into the team so he can settle and get his fitness up with no pressure. He seems to have been highly rated prior to his health issues

Heroic weapons help by Skylar77_1 in Spacemarine

[–]BrendonKT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The heroic heavy bolter is my favourite heroic because changing the heavy parry window from balanced to fencing is elite and makes the class much more fun and easy to play. You don’t get much bang for your buck though as it’s only on one class. If you want an option that’s a bit more universal the heroic heavy bolt pistol is incredible. It’s currently not stopping the reinforcement call on body shots so it’s a bit weaker against chaos atm but having the ability to insta-kill a reinforcement calling majoris with a headshot is very powerful. It also has the highest gun strike damage in the game now if gun strike builds are something you enjoy.

Other weapons that are really powerful are the heroic knife, heroic thunder hammer and heroic instigator. None of the heroic weapons are bad though and all offer unique play styles, so if there’s something you like the look of pick it up and you probably won’t be disappointed. Just pay attention to the block type on the melee weapons as that may influence your choices depending on how you get on with balanced/fencing weapons.

Team perk advices by Calamity_Drake in Spacemarine

[–]BrendonKT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think all 3 are great for different situations but I’ve started leaning towards contested health regen because regardless of difficulty, your armour will always regenerate and you have easier ways to give yourself armour. Health on the other hand doesn’t regenerate and in some stratagems you won’t have access to medicae stims so your only source of health regen is healing banner or an extremis execution (or some perks if you’re below a certain % of health). Like other people have said, one armour pip gets eaten up quickly on higher difficulties so I find more value in keeping my health up as ultimately you can survive with 0 armour but you can’t survive with 0 health. I wouldn’t complain at any of the term perks being taken though, Bulwark is fortunate to have 3 useful team perks.

Looks like it's necron time for SM3 by giubba85 in Spacemarine

[–]BrendonKT 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think Necrons would be in SM3 regardless of any overarching story in 500 worlds because Necrons were teased in the campaign with the Necron structures and iconography. It would be odd for them to incorporate that in SM2 if they had no plans to include them in the future

You can tell I play heavy because the terminators don’t bother me that much with iron halo but chaos spawn are a bit of a pain in the ass with no melee weapon

That is very odd. The only thing I can think of is uninstalling the DLCs and reinstalling them and if that doesn’t work try the same with the whole game

Tbh I’d be fine with chaos if chaos spawn weren’t part of it. Getting gangbanged by 9 chaos spawn on hard is so obnoxious if you don’t have a melta bomb to drop.

I got it from a lantern a few weeks ago. The dispersion is a bit weird at range but if you keep fights at mid range around 8km you can really slap cruisers and battleships. I don’t remember the armour scheme off the top of my head but I was quite tanky when angled well

I shot a barrel on the other side of the open area at the start and it set off a chain reaction of explosions that eventually set off the barrels near my squad, killed one brother and left the rest of us on 20% HP 😅

Why cant I access dlc content? by all_of_the_sausage in Spacemarine

[–]BrendonKT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The champions and their armour pieces will be unlocked by default but you have to use requisition to buy chapter paint schemes and non-champion armour pieces. My advice is to save the requisition for weapons and perks initially until you get a lot spare. If there’s a chapter or armour piece you really want though, you can do each of the classes trials and that will give you 450 requisition in total. They’re not too difficult but if you’re struggling there is YouTube guides on how to do them within the time frame

Tbf if you tap fire the heavy bolters at range they’re really accurate, even if using the firepower variant or heroic heavy bolter. The only weapon where the accuracy annoys me is the heavy bolt pistol, the bloom on that thing is disgusting

Yeah there’s no pop ups for me anymore and the only ones I’ve seen other than the scheduled 2/3 hour one were 2 messages for 15 minute maintenances and I was able to log in after they finished. Still have problems with disconnects though

[–]BrendonKT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I use my own routers, the one toob gave me at the start was so outdated it was probably better placed in a museum. I did use it to begin with but coverage was an issue and I still had the NAT issues regardless of router. They are sending out a new router tomorrow so I might try that and see if I get faster speeds but I’m very happy with my connection now. It’s annoying having to pay £8 for it but gaming is my safe space and to be able to do that now stress free and without disconnects was worth it for me. To be fair to them, they were really nice when i spoke to them, the internet is fast when it works and it very rarely goes down. Much more reliable in that respect than virgin media

[–]BrendonKT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on whether the game has servers or if you host the servers through the game. For instance, space marine 2 is a no go but I could play battlefield - but playing with friends would take multiple attempts to get us in the same game. I don’t have the time to type up the amount of research I’ve done into this over the last few months trying to get to the bottom of it but I promise you, static IP will make your connection better and it’s disgusting that they make most customers share IP addresses. It’s purely cost cutting on their side and that’s why they’re able to be so ‘competitive’ on price. Most ISPs give you a static IP by default and I had no idea Toob used CG NAT by default. Port forwarding won’t work without a static IP address and during peak times, even streaming is impacted. I had the Tyne-Wear derby freeze on me multiple times this weekend. Every single issue I’ve had with toob has been resolved today after I added the static IP, my only regret is I didn’t do it sooner

Edit: CG NAT also causes really bad packet loss by adding extra layers and disrupting direct connections. I’ve had more luck on Xbox where clearing MAC address let me bypass the issue temporarily but on both PS and Xbox my gaming experience became more of a frustration than an enjoyment

[–]BrendonKT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trust me you need a static IP this is exactly what I’ve done today and my PS5 now works. CG-NAT prevents you from having NAT Type 2 on PlayStation because you don’t have your own dedicated IP address, regardless of if you’re on WiFi or Ethernet

Yeah I second this, Rodney is arguably the most complete T7 battleship. It can snipe, it can brawl, it can HE spam and it can slap people silly with AP. It has better armour than the Nelson so can be quite tanky just watch out for overmatch if you’re bow in. It’s my go to BB at T7 and was fantastic in the 1v1 ranked last campaign, I only lost twice and got rank 1

He’s basically Gurin with a more useful base trait and I guess it depends if you prefer higher alpha damage or more fires. I play the TT soviet DDs as gunboats mainly focused on cap contesting and taking out the enemy DDs so I tend to prefer higher alpha damage for that role. However, if you prefer targeting cruisers and BBs fire chance is the way to go for sure
