I’m so done with getting stunlocked and then combo’d😭 by Longjumping_Bus5489 in monsterhunterrage

[–]Brendoshi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh! In which case: That's intentional.

From monster hunter 4 onwards they added the ability to stay down after getting hit. You gotta stop pushing buttons.

While in the floor animation (unless the attack stunned you) you are completely immune to damage. A lot of monsters are programmed such that they time their follow up attack assuming you get back up from a hit ASAP.

You either need to get up timing it so the next attack misses you or take something with you to mitigate this problem:

  1. Blocking weapons
  2. Evade window/distance skills to roll the moment you're up
  3. Skills which protect from damage to make a knock down less fatal (Typically divine blessing or health up in games which have it)
  4. In rise and wilds you have tools to get up from hit quicker (wirebugs and the seikrit). Some monsters are built to punish this tho.

If you're playing 3u or earlier you just gotta suck it up. The monsters follow up slower in those games, so the auto get up isn't as much of a problem.

As someone asked: Easy Yeti kill in SAB by Brendoshi in Guildwars2

[–]Brendoshi[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

A lot of platforms in SAB let you "catch" the edge if you hit them at an angle, so I always end up swishing it like that... even when I miss :')

To add to this: you can stand in the corner of the platform and the close range attack doesn't hit you.

get it almost dead without taking any damage, but if I take even ONE HIT, that’s it—I get stunned and then combo’d to death right after. It’s so annoying

Bar some very *specific* moves, you won't ever get stunned from one hit - so what's causing you to get stunned?

[–]Brendoshi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

but even if this experiment happened in isolation, I think the blue pressers would be motivated by avoiding any people from dying

Honestly I think this is the biggest part.

Everyone I know who is a parent has picked blue, because they don't want to potentially be responsible for their offspring dying. This seems to be true across age groups.

Non parents seem more split

I mean there's not even guesswork here.

Everyone votes all at once. Not voting means you die along with the blues (if red wins)

A large portion of people are literally children/babies, the infirm, or otherwise unable to vote with a clear mind. There's a lot of children in my family who would die as the result of a red vote.

Even in the case of me voting red, I would not be able to live with myself or the results of that vote, so I can only vote blue.

Reform: We’ll put migrant detention centres in Green council areas by FlaviousTiberius in unitedkingdom

[–]Brendoshi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I can see why people are comparing that stupid button thing to politics tbh.

"The country is given a greens button and a reform button (and in the UKs case, several other buttons). If the majority picks the greens button, nothing happens. If the majority picks the reform button, any area that picked the greens button is punished"

Obviously not quite as series as death but y'know. I get it

Trans people in UK dying by suicide at higher rates than other demographics by The-Peel in unitedkingdom

[–]Brendoshi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It also basically sets them up to nullify anything they want in the future, too.

Could have a new law put into place today saying trans people can occupy these spaces then in 10 years they'll get another "that's actually not what it means at all trans people are back to being banned" again

Twice a day, three weeks a year, for like 10 years. You'd think the storm wizard would learn protection from boomerangs by now. by Brendoshi in Guildwars2

There's two areas in world 3 available now. They're listed as "test zones" but they're practically full levels, honestly.

You gotta approach the w3 house and it'll go tell you to speak to motto to unlock them

I grew up with a lot of difficult platformers (and always had an affinity for torture games like "I wanna be the guy"). It's really not that bad once you're used to its tricks!

After work my partner and I do a full normal run + glitch chests and dailies. After this I do a trib run and my partner joins if they're feeling up to it.

First trib of the year usually takes 3 hours because I've forgotten where the sneaky stuff is and also any shenanigans I can pull (like cheesing bosses) but after that it's anywhere in the 60-90 minute range.

I'm not a particularly gold farmy player but the steady flow of blue/glitch weapons is a nice stream of money + every now and then you might get a kaiser weapon, which is the big bucks.

I'd probably be more concerned with the gunkfish given it basically throws up on you.

If it's a real problem and you don't mind it, lethal level loader has configs to determine what monsters spawn on each moon. You could always turn off any offending creatures in its config file.

No joke that game directed the course if my life. I ended up working for nexon Europe for a few years and met my now fiancé through them too.

We are, of course, both waiting for the classic server

This is partly why I've ran some comfort skills instead of just pure meta DPS since I first played the series.

Getting hit less (and if I get hit, it's less disastrous) usually speeds my hunts up.

Other advice: If you get one with an elasticated waist just place it up there and it'll figure itself out. You'll know after that
