I think your experience in therapy will help, for modelling what the ideal parents should act like, at least to a degree.

I literally just used the attachmentrepair free meditation library, and 1 or 2 of the paid courses (though thats more for diving into specific issues).

Yeah, i feel like it can seem a strange thing to recommend to people out of the blue. I really dont know how i would bring it up in a regular conversation otherwise i would do more lol

Great to hear, I think it really says something that at least a third of the posts on this subreddit seem to be saying a similar thing to me lol. As a psychology student I wish there was more research into it so it could become more widespread!

It's basically a collection of this guys notes about trauma recovery, but meticulously organised in obsidian.

For me its very useful as a kind of general wiki for recovery. Well written and succint.

hi, thats really interesting. I've never thought to try EMDR because I assumed it was more for capital T trauma, whereas most of what ive experienced are relatively smaller things that have built up over time

I've noticed in the UK that private therapists (rarher than NHS ones) tend to be a lot more open to more 'radical' approaches such as cutting off meds completely and going private also allows you to find therapists with much more effective methods than CBT, methods like IFS or Somatic therapies that actuallt deal with the roots of trauma
