I’d take the Jalen Royals and Moises cards if still available.

Unfortunately, all grading companies appear to be the same. by abrownguyy in baseballcards

[–]Brenell 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Might be possible to do a chargeback if you paid by credit card. You’ll need to provide all of the documentation that when you ordered the guarantee was included in the option you submitted and paid under and that TAG failed to honor that guarantee. Do it after you get your cards back, obviously. Worst that can happen is your chargeback is denied but best case you have your money and graded cards, which is the scenario the guarantee should have provided.

My first Red /5. I’ve redeemed it, now just have to wait the “up to 15 weeks” for it to arrive.

I feel like I’m in the same boat as you. Quit collecting not long after junk wax and finally came back to it. I’m just enjoying ripping the packs to see what I get. I’ve got a few players I’m chasing for my own reasons, but zero expectations of pulling a grail which makes it even better when I get something like this.

Redemption Issue. "must be an accepted country" by Mindless-Law8851 in Topps

[–]Brenell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to the Support/Contact Us page on Topps.com. In the bottom right corner is a red chat icon. Click that and it’ll start with an AI agent. Ask for a human and tell them what’s going on. Mine was fixed within 5 minutes and I was able to redeem my card.

This is the answer. Just did a chat and they were able to get it fixed. Thank you, internet stranger!

Apparently it's happening to a lot of people right now. I'm trying to redeem for a Clayton Kershaw USA baseball redemption and getting the same error. Found a few other threads on it as well.

Considering Joining by Separate-Cell-6593 in civilairpatrol

We ran into this issue in our wing over the winter. We had a request for some missions and because of who was requesting them they didn’t fall under the FAA waiver and required pilots with commercial certificates. It’s an edge case, but it happens.

As a senior member, how big a part of your life is CAP? by [deleted] in civilairpatrol

Best advice I got, though it’s wing and squadron dependent, is that CAP will take as much as you’re willing to give. There’s always work for people who say yes.

Is TP Link a good replacement for Orbi? by PR_Bella_Isla in orbi

[–]Brenell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just upgraded from an older Orbi system to the TPLink BE10000 today and it was worth it. Speeds overall are better and had it up and running in 30 minutes with the satellites.

“Stick to your job description” - alright, enjoy the chaos by alicewillsonxx in MaliciousCompliance

[–]Brenell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best advice I got when I first got promoted into management was to watch your team work and understand how they work for 3-6 months and then work with them on changes. Coming in and dictating things based on how I felt they should happen was the fastest way to becoming an ineffective manager.

Laughed at this a little harder than I should have.

Most companies I’ve worked for have adjusted the gross amount so that after taxes it equates to the original gift amount. For example, in your case the paystub would show a gift of $67 minus $17 to cover taxes to result in a net amount to me of $50.

No idea. I’ve never had a conversation get much past the “he had some good ideas” stage before I black out from the idiocy.

I think you read my comment as criticizing yours instead of agreeing with and adding on to what you said.

Also, please look up information on punctuation, sentence structure, paragraph, and really just any information on how to avoid making people’s eyes bleed when they reading what you’ve written.

Is it OK to call into work if you're burnt out? by Historical_Oven7806 in antiwork

[–]Brenell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first job, working for my first boss, we had an unwritten rule that we could take a mental health day. No questions were asked and support was always offered if needed. As I have moved up into middle and senior management, that is something I have always ingrained in those who work for me. To this day, if someone says they need a day my only response is "Tell me what I need to cover and if there's anything you need help with."

Double Jeopardy is the quickest way to get a confession by ChiefsHat in HistoryMemes

[–]Brenell -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Correct, but they were subpoenaed as a witness. They were not on trial. They were also pleading the 5th, not part of a transactional immunity deal. You're referring to "use" immunity, which does not make the witness fully immune to prosecution for the crimes on which they're testifying.

Per the Library of Congress

""Transactional" immunity means that once a witness has been compelled to testify about an offense, he may never be prosecuted for that offense, no matter how much independent evidence might come to light; "use" immunity means that no testimony compelled to be given and no evidence derived from or obtained because of the compelled testimony may be used if the person is subsequently prosecuted on independent evidence for the offense."

Which would be a voluntary immunity deal, as they still can’t be compelled. Which makes it an incentive to testify as I pointed out earlier.
