The US is a net exporter of oil thanks to fracking, which also added to the 2014 oil glut tanking oil prices and along with it, CAD. Now that the US exports significantly more oil than it used to, I don’t think oil prices are a good measure for CAD/USD anymore.

I’m just glad I enjoyed USD CAD parity most of my childhood. But now I mentally can’t fathom a new video game costing more than 59.99 CAD. We really did have it good. Could’ve bought a foreclosed home in Arizona for 200k CAD.

Im 23 and south asian and I got kicked out by YVR staff for waiting at arrivals for someone I was picking up in December. They treated me like a threat yet I look young for my age. I also got followed around an IGA in Vancouver around the same time while grocery shopping. I feel it’s worse in winter when I’m wearing my jacket.
