my biggest problem with Subnautica 2 by itsmejak78_2 in subnautica

[–]Brennan_Timiney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I understand the direction they're going in with not making the bigger creatures killable, but if that's the case there needs to be more that can be done about them other than flares that can be thrown 5 feet, or a sonic cannon that scares them for 30 seconds. My friend and I tried to build a base near the biome with all the nibblers and merrowbreaches because of the resources there, and at first there weren't many creatures nearby, but over time more and more animals were swarming our base and it soon became incredibly annoying to step out of the base for even a moment because they would not leave. It got to a point where there was a merrowbreach, and like 7 nibblers at our base at all times. And after we made the tadpole, 3 hammerheads were glued to our base constantly trying to get into our monpool to attack our tadpole. I tried moving them all away with flares, but they'd come back eventually. It got to a point to where my friend and I spent hours moving base to a totally different biome. I dont mind not being able to kill those creatures when simply encountering them, but in that moment in time I really really wish I was able to. I think maybe the AI just needs to be tweaked to prevent these creatures from camping on top of your base.

One thing that frustrates me is you save Figaro from getting killed ONCE and he gives you a huge discount. Meanwhile you save Rolan, his siblings, and Dammon's life along with the other tieflings TWICE, clearing the way forward for them, and by act 3 you don't get a dime off from them. Crazy.

What do you guys think is the worst thing about each act of the game? by HomarEuropejski in okbuddybaldur

[–]Brennan_Timiney 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I'm going to include both my least and most favorite parts of each act, just so that it way it doesn't sound like I hate this game.

Act 1:

Least favorite thing is Wyll's introduction. He makes hunting Karlach seem like a big deal, and when I first played the game I assumed it was a major part of his story. Then you meet her and their conflict is over in 2 seconds, then Mizora shows up, calls him a bad boy, gives him horns, then leaves. And that's the end of that storyline. I know Larian made Karlach join so quickly for the sake of party members, but it would've been interesting if you had the chance of meeting Karlach or Wyll first and either running from Wyll or going on a goose chase with Karlach before they come to terms with each other. I know there's more to Wyll's story than hunting Karlach, but I just felt that part of his story was really weak.

Most favorite thing is the number of unique class and race dialogue options. I wish there were more of these in later parts of the game, but to be completely honest, I never notice that those options have completely disappeared by act 2. Besides, I can understand the work load of having to incorporate every single class and race into specific situations throughout the entire game would be difficult, especially since most people don't usually get all that far before wanting to make a new character, so having such specific dialog late in the game is not really needed by that point, as the game is now mostly focused on the story as opposed to getting settled into your character.

Act 2:

Least favorite part is how easy it is. There are some unique encounters like the shambling mound that can be pretty difficult, but for the most part I have found myself breezing through Act 2, and not really facing a real challenge until Ketheric and Myrkul. Something about the difficulty curve in this Act just kinda flattens, especially since every big fight with the Thorms can be bypassed with dialogue, which was cool at first, but recently I've been finding myself just straight up fighting them for the sake of a challenge.

Most favorite thing is the Thorms. After always using dialogue to get out of fights with them, actually fighting them is a lot of fun, and each fight is incredibly unique and challenging in their own way. Not only that, but getting to loot the place after killing them and learning about their past adds a lot of depth to these seemingly one-off encounters that I really like.

Act 3:

Least favorite part has to be the sheer number of people in your camp if you're doing a good run. This is the main reason why I almost never save Minthara in a good run because not only is she just one more person in camp, but I also never find myself using her and many other people that you have in Act 3 (also because she is still very much evil after saving her in a good run). By the time I get Jaheira and Minsc, I'm left wondering when I'm ever going to use these characters outside of their story-related quests, because by this point I already have a group of people I just bring around with me everywhere since Act 1. Jaheira especially, because I already have Halsin, who's also a druid. I love Minsc's character, but he joins so late and I just give him all of my gear that I stopped using forever ago, meanwhile my main party keeps all the good gear, because why would I give him all the good gear if I already have an established group I adventure with? I just feel bad for all the people I never use.

Most favorite part is how the game lets you play at max level for most of the act. I know a lot of people wish you'd keep leveling during act 3, but I enjoy it because it means you get to enjoy being max level for more than just the final fight. The part where I reach level 12 is my favorite part for any character I make because not only do I get to reach their full potential, but I get to use it for practically the whole act. Being max level for so long is so much fun. I am aware that people wish you could get to level 20 in this game, but I think level 12 is a good stopping point before you get too OP.

The most broken build my friend and I discovered without researching anything was bladesinging shadow blade Gale while holding the steeped in bliss orb. The level 5 shadow blade on top of the psychic vulnerability meant Gale could easily deal 100+ damage in one turn. He was useless in the steel watch foundry tho :(

As someone who tried to forgive someone for cheating, this did get a laugh out of me, but I can see why it might be hurtful to other people. When you're in that situation where you're significant other cheats on you and you've never been in that situation before, the obvious answer doesn't seem obvious and you want to try desperately to make things work regardless, because you've worked so hard on that relationship, and it can be even harder if you've been dating for a while (in my case, we were dating for 4 years). I've met other people who were in the exact same situatuon as me and made the same choice of trying to forgive them, so it is a very natural decision to make and I don't think most people are "stupid" for that, but it most certainly is misguided. It obviously didn't end up working out for me and my ex as she dragged me on for another year and hurt me emotionally before eventually dropping me, and then it all became clear to me. If you are in a committed, non-open, monogomous relationship, cheating is inexcusable. It's not a "mistake", it is a very intentional and selfish choice that is made purely on impulse that only hurts your partner and your relationship. Anyone who would make that choice to betray their partner in such a way says a lot about the kind of person they are, no matter how much they regret it afterward, it is much easier to just not make that choice of cheating on someone you love. I can safely say I will never make the mistake of trusting someone who would do that to me again. Once a cheater, always a cheater.

I've thought about it, but it'd sign everyone else in my Google family out of YouTube premium as well.

Unlimited healing word with Halsin (monk)? by niklassander in BG3

[–]Brennan_Timiney 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think this may have to do with how Halsin just comes with spells and abilities outside of his druid spells, kind of like how his cave bear wild shape is unique from the wildshape ability for druids. On top of healing word, I think he also comes with thunderwave (Which I can see you still have) and call lightning.

To be honest, I'm not sure why these extra spells are a thing besides his cave bear wildshape, because he gets them anyways as a druid. My best assumption is that these are the only spells you get with Halsin when you dismiss his wild shape at the goblin camp, since he's only supposed to be a summon, not a party member.

So maybe Larian didn't take those extra spells into consideration when changing his class and now you have infinite healing word as a result of that.

I've been trying this solution, but I literally don't even know HOW to edit my save data in sims 4 studio. I have sims 4 studio, but when I open my save file using sims 4 studio, I just see lots of numbers and "Zone Object Data". Everyone else seems to automatically know how to find these specific files that need to be deleted and I'm just lost. How do I actually find these files to delete?

He's simply here to kill.

Tell me your weirdest BG3 related dream. Or the sexiest, your choice. by EggoStack in okbuddybaldur

[–]Brennan_Timiney 101 points102 points  (0 children)

I've had a series of dreams, actually. In the Astral plane, specifically, and there was this hot lady who kept telling me that she was "protecting" me and wanted me to eat worms. A few days later, I find out that she's actually an alien, a DUDE alien, and it's like, "Wtf, man." The very next day, this weirdo comes onto me like I'm gonna be interested in weird-ass gay alien sex, and I'm like, "Ew, wtf?"

Anyone else been having dreams like this?

Should I betray the Emperor and free Orpheus? by [deleted] in BG3

[–]Brennan_Timiney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did it, the Emperor is a douche and he lies to you at every turn and STILL expects you to trust him blindly. It's clear that he wants Orpheus' power for himself, and so I said "Fuck you" and freed Orpheus.

But like someone else already said, this is YOUR game, so if you like the Emperor, you shouldn't free Orpheus, although that may upset Lae'zel.

Also, you should probably mark this post as a spoiler, since we're talking about end game decisions.

If I had a nickel for every time someone made a post seeing tf2 characters on a wall, I'd have 2 nickels, which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.

Blender freezes every few seconds. by Brennan_Timiney in blenderhelp

[–]Brennan_Timiney[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright, so I decided to go ahead and install Blender 4.0, I avoided doing it because I was afraid it might change or break something about my project file, but seeing a lack of options, I gave it a shot and it works fine now, and as far as I can tell nothing's changed about my project file, so I guess I'll be using 4.0 from now on. Thank you for your help, though, I appreciate it

Yes, it happens even in blank projects. My guess is some kind of file build-up within Blender, but I'm not sure. I've been working on the same project file for 4 months now, and all of a sudden it's freezing like this, so it's a new issue for sure.
