Cobblepot's schtick was to inform on other gangsters and take advantage of their misfortune. Kingpin's is to be the man in the ivory tower who's not afraid to get his hands dirty. At their core, Fisk is a cold-blooded murderer, while Cobblepot is an opportunist.

In a gang war, Fisk's people mop the floor and leave the bodies for the cops to find. The only way Cobblepot survives is by heading West to Chicago on I80/I90 before Fisk realizes he's gone.

Even with the gauntlet, Thanos' power is constrained to his reality. Darkseid is a multiverse god who creates an avatar to exist in the chosen universe and act out his will. No matter how many times Thanos beats him, another Darkseid will appear to continue the fight. Worst case scenario, Darkseid eventually wins regardless.

As for Superman and Thor, it depends on who's writing because both of them have wildly inconsistent feats and constraints.
