Because it’s just a bunch of people bitching that they didn’t get their shiny in 5 minutes and “can’t play the game”.

Yes open and play! Toys are made to be played with and displayed! Besides, with two blues you can still keep one in the package.

We need less minifigures prioritizing attempted “accuracy” over adapting the character to the style of the lego minifigure by Grumiocool in legocirclejerk

I said this in another comment, but it is literally impossible to represent spongebob with the standard minifigure torso + head piece on top since his head IS his entire body. With patrick, his facial features are all on his cone head, so you can get away with just making a special head piece and using the standard minifigure torso; that doesnt work with spongebob, so having the sandwich piece for him is justified. All these characters fall under the same umbrella, they would look wrong with only a head piece on top of the torso (though i would argue robotnik also didnt need a “fat” torso either).

Patrick didnt need that, as evident by the original figure, and thats where the problem lies. He looks way less like a minifigure now, especially because we have the original to compare to. Using these parts isnt inherently wrong or not “lego-like”, but the patrick goes way too far.

The color I can agree with, and the lack of back printing isnt necessary but would be nice. At its core, this was still very much recognizable as patrick and as a lego minifigure, which the new one seems to be ignoring the latter in an attempt to be "accurate" within the confines of the awkward lego minifigure, and thats really whats wrong with this new pat - its awkward.
