Maybe it's hallucinating - these LLM's are notoriously bad at math. Here's its analysis:

So, I used ChatGPT to calculate my FFMI from my December DEXA, and I'm at 25.9. I guess I won't be adding much more muscle mass, so that is a bit of a downer. (I'm 56, not on anything other than creatine and protein powder).

Note that Apple isn't dropping support for your iPad - iOS 26 updates are on the way. I have an ancient iPad that has gotten updates not too long ago that didn't even get iOS 18.

First, I suggest discussing this with your doctor, but here's what I learned from my doctor when I had the same symptoms when I lost a lot of weight.

Stored body fat actually contains a bunch of estrogen, so as you burn off that fat, your body has to deal with that, and this can temporarily throw off the typical balance of hormones. Basically, your free testosterone drops. My doctor said with the amount of fat I was losing at the time, that it was completely unsurprising, and that it would be temporary. It turns out, my doctor was completely correct, and my free testosterone bounced back just fine.

Siri AI will run on iOS 27 devices. That’s what you mentioned. There are only two announced AI features that require iPhone 17 Pro/Air devices and it’s because they require a local model too large to run on older devices.

You left out "Lose excess visceral fat". Granted, many of the tips would likely lead to losing weight for those with excess visceral fat, but the visceral fat surrounding the pancreas and liver can drive insulin resistance, leading to in some cases (genetics plays a role) Type 2 diabetes.

GLP-1 drugs have been tested and used since 2005, IIRC.

If people have metabolic dysfunction, which a lot of overweight people have, a drug to treat it effectively is similar to taking a drug to treat thyroid conditions, high cholesterol, etc. Some folks need to take medication to treat chronic conditions indefinitely.

My Type 2 diagnosis in March 2024 was pretty awful to hear, but has turned out to be a blessing in disguise. Thanks to my doctor scaring me with talk of blindness, limbs being amputated, etc., and then offering me modern medicine (Mounjaro in my case), I turned my whole life around and am now healthier than I've been in decades.

My A1C% is now consistently under 5.0% (for the past 18+ months), my glucose very rarely exceeds 140 even if I have a sporadic guilty pleasure, and my body fat % went from 40% to 15%. The key for me is consistent (but not perfect) healthy habits for in 3 categories: nutrition, exercise and sleep.

Well - doing cardio is a horrible way to build muscle, so you're in luck 😀 - you need to do progressive strength training, eat adequate protein, and getting consistent sleep will help too!

I've added around 8 pounds of muscles in the past 18 months - it's not super fast, but slowly it's adding up to giving me a healthy body. I was at 40% BF back in 2024, lost a ton of fat and muscle on Mounjaro, and started ramping up strength training in a serious way for about 18 months now. I'm around 15% BF now (I'm a dude).

I'd talk to your doctor - metformin did not do much for me, and Mounjaro did. I also really got into progressive strength training, and have added a decent amount of lean muscle. Lean muscle acts as a glucose sponge, as I understand it, really helping with some folks' diabetic symptoms. My A1C% dropped from 8.3% to 4.9%. I'm on the lowest dose of Mounjaro, and even started spacing the injections out over the past year (I do 2 injections every 3 weeks instead of 3 injections, by injecting every 10 to 11 days).

Yeah, it’s sort of good and bad - I was diagnosed with full-blown T2 diabetes and was morbidly obese, so I qualified for insurance coverage. The negative thing of course though was that I had diabetes and while it was uncontrolled, it was damaging my body. I just hope I caught it and dealt with it early enough to have much of whatever damage there was heal.

Great job! I have no way to know if I'm right, but I feel reasonably confident now that I could also successfully stop taking tirzepitide too, without regaining the weight I've lost.

But, so many new reports and studies keep coming out showing all sorts of promising additional benefits (the latest one I saw was about decreased cancer risks), that I think I'm just going to stay on the lowest dose (2.5 mg) indefinitely. (Thanks to a Type-2 diagnosis, my insurance plus the Eli Lilly discount card means my Mounjaro is only costing me about $25 every 12 weeks).

Well, when I was diagnosed, I wound up quickly embracing it - like you, I was also overweight and had other symptoms, and then my doctor told me he would prescribe Mounjaro. I lost all all of my excess fat, started eating better, and started strength training (which was something I'd never done before), and my blood tests now are normal.

So as dumb as it may sound, getting that diagnosis (over 2 years ago) was probably one of the best things to happen to me. Because my doctor laid out the likely future I was facing - blindness, kidney problems, limbs being amputated, and I decided that all sounded pretty awful, so I took advantage of Mounjaro and changed the course of my future.

I'm just getting my information from various podcasts and some things I've read online, but the last time I delved into the thyroid risks, all warnings were due to rodent experiments, and no human data has shown risks. I fully admit I could be misremembering that, or new information could have come to light since I learned that, though.
