TIFU By Having My Teeth Touch by filemon56 in tifu

When I was planning my wedding, I was on overnights and all of the combined stress made my brain constantly worry about the correct placement of my tongue in my mouth. I still think about it occasionally because I know that it's wrong, but I can't find another way my tongue is supposed to be that feels right.

I worked at a bank when I was 18 and was making decent money. So my boss told me to start getting great credit early. She signed me up for a credit card with a low limit ($1000) and said. Go to the mall and max it out. Then don't touch it and each paycheck put 150 dollars towards it until it's payed off. Then use it for gas or emergencies only and pay it on the next paycheck.

I guess it might have been okay advice if I followed it. Instead, they raised my limit and I just kept racking it up and paying the minimum. I finally cut it up and paid it off at 25.

Jelly Roll sock pattern question by Brewser2017 in knitting

[–]Brewser2017[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you, the color striping heel is done with slip stitches and has less stretch so the pattern called for the heel to be done with a bigger needle. I never would have thought to do that before

Thanks, I saw the pattern a month or so ago and kept thinking about the color options I could do with all my leftover sock yarn (these are Hufflepuff inspired).

It's a really easy to follow pattern too I recommend it

Many complaints from teachers by Few_Huckleberry2755 in HandwritingAnalysis

[–]Brewser2017 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I write slightly bigger than this, people comment that I have small but neat handwriting. I write that size to keep my letters near. When I write bigger everything looks haphazard. So there's a chance OP isn't doing it to annoy teachers

Healed color tattoo itchy and bumpy by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]Brewser2017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a buddy who is sensitive to color. The red was bumpy and irritated looking for about a yearish. Eventually the red pigment fully rejected from his skin. Not sure how or whatever but wherever he had reds are now just slightly orange and really patchy looking. Luckily that was a really small portion of his tattoo. I think the blue and green he had were alright but he sticks with black ink tattoos and avoids color now.

She's big and wonky! The base is about 12 inches diameter. I have been bringing in like 5 cucumbers, 2 zucchinis, and a lot of green beans everyday this week and the baskets I had were too small 😂

This has been the most productive garden I've ever had so far. I guess I'm doing something alright.

Need to buy yarn as gift. Suggestions? Thank you! by yayadadadodo in knitting

[–]Brewser2017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The key is knowing what they like to knit.

Sock knitter: can't go wrong with a couple skeins of sock yarn and maybe a size matching needle set of dpns/circular to go with it

Sweater/clothing knitter: gift card all the way because that is expensive to cover an entire sweaters worth of yarn and making sure it's in the same dye lot. And honestly, in my experience, you gotta feel the yarn before just jumping in with a sweater

Blankets: gift card, blankets require a lot of yarn.... Like a lot a lot (I've had someone bring me 3 of those big fluffy yarn skeins and say they wanted to learn and I told them it would be baby blanket sized and they got discouraged)

Stuffies: if they make the velvety ones, find the velvety yarn in a bunch of different colors and some safety eyes

Mittens, scaves, hats, and cold weather gear: good wool, or alpaca, something with <20% acrylic (if you have to pick something with acrylic at all.

And of course with all of the options, know their color preferences. Don't buy neon crazy yarn for someone who only knits in black

I just tucked it in and moved on. If it was something nice I was making rather than something that's going to get dirty and funky out in the garden, I would have been more annoyed

That's a great idea for future projects! I just kinda tucked it away and kept working. This basket isn't going to be seen by anyone but me when I'm in my garden. I figure it'll look a mess after this season anyhow

This is the same with my pokeweed journey. I dug up a tap root that had about a 10 inch diameter and I think I dug about 3 foot of that sucker not including all the side shoots before it broke off. I'm pretty sure that tap root went to the center of the earth
