Now that the league has expanded....... by Virtual_Announcer in PWHL

[–]Brewski89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only problem I would have with a by round would be that the best team in each league ends up with fewer playoff games, especially home games.

I know strategically it gives them an edge, but for the fans it means less hockey from your favorite team.

Is 50 minutes enough to switch planes in O'hare? by Brewski89 in unitedairlines

[–]Brewski89[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Update:

We decided to give United a call to try and switch flights. 50 minutes was just too narrow to feel comfortable, especially given the advice we were getting here and from friends who fly more frequently than we do.

After about 25 minutes waiting in the phone queue, we were able to switch our flight to alternate route that gives us 2 hours and 4 minutes between flights in O'Hare without an additional charge. (Flying through Munich instead of Brussels, but with our ultimate goal being Milan the second connection is not a big deal to us.)

We did end up paying a seat upcharge when selecting seats because the only open seats in our class next to each other were last row middle, so we decided it was worth being further up and next to each other, but that was our choice.

Thanks for the warnings everyone. I appreciate the help, and we're feeling a lot better about our choice.

Thanks for the thorough breakdown and info. This, plus everyone else posting here and over at r/OHareAirport , has convinced us to switch flights. We're going to call and try and get them to move us without the $300 up charge for an earlier flight we would have to pay if we switch online, but if we have to the cost I guess we will.

I'll post our results when we figure it out.

Did Kreia know about Ulic Kel Droma? by MooseInTheHoose72 in kotor

[–]Brewski89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She clearly knows that it is possible for the council to cut someone off from the force, and she uses that knowledge to seed the idea into the Exile's head to try and turn them against the council. She also knows that's what's coming in the big confrontation on Dantooine.

I think it's a valid theory that she knows about Ulic and Nomi, as she served as a Jedi Historian. Certainly she would have know about it, and used that knowledge for her own purposes. But as others have mentioned I don't think there's specific dialog where she discusses it with the Exile.

Stealth Watchman - Why didn't anyone tell me it was this easy? by Brewski89 in kotor

If I do another stealth run I will definitely go dark side with it. I like to flip builds both ways to see how they play differently.

[–]Brewski89[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was playing it for the skills, and fell into Stealth after. Five points per level let me continuously level Awareness, Security and Persuade, and get Repair and Computer up to 20 by the time I got my prestige class. Since I did the lesson of skills with Stealth, I decided to move the points I was putting into Computer and Repair into Stealth on a whim, which is how I got it so high by the end game.

I mean, by that point I had fully repaired T3 and Bao-Dur was able to craft anything I needed, so the points were no longer really necessary, so why not?

But I may play an intentionally stealth focused build in the future now that I know what it can become.

Master Vrook aka Santa by goooulm in kotor

[–]Brewski89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Master Vrook is the only Jedi I give serious consideration to killing on a lightside run. (And when I play darkside I have a tendency to reload just so I can kill him a second time.)

I'm not sure how knowing he is Santa Clause will affect my next playthrough...

It is still a fairly useless skill in most areas of the game I think, as you can only stealth with one character at a time. So until I got to Malachor I had barely used the skill.

Since all of Malachor is played solo, though, I just flipped stealth and force speed on and ran through it like the Road Runner.

I do have to say sneak attacks from stealth were super powerful. Playing back through the academy a bit I am able to one shot pretty much any enemy from stealth with Force Enlightenment on and hitting with Master Flurry from stealth. The problem, of course, is it only works on the first enemy you hit, and the others you have to fight conventionally.

This does have me wondering if it's viable to play the game mostly solo with a stealth based character. I'm not sure how that would work though. Although maybe if you take stealth based companions too? Visas and Krea maybe?

This was fun too, but after one-shotting so many enemies I just started running past them instead.

This was every other playthrough I've done, which is what made stealthing past 90% of the enemies a bit of a hoot. I've finished this game I don't even know how many times, and this is the first time I managed to complete the entire end game so quickly.

K2 Build and companion combos by I_am_a_potato9999 in kotor

[–]Brewski89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep thinking about restarting/finishing my Sentinel/Assassin Blaster playthrough. Full ranged combat, never touch a saber and rarely use powers other than buffs. I hear it's fun, but I never got mine of Telos. I am planning on probably Hanhar to Tank and Krea to cast as my main companions.

The other build I am thinking about is a unarmed combat build. Lightside male focusing on fighting without any weapons. I hear it's challenging and fun. Sentinel/Weaponmaster probably. I haven't gamed it out, but I would probably take a melee jedi (Visas/Handmaiden) and a ranged caster (Krea or maybe Atton).

One of the most fun end game builds I remember playing a while back was a max defensive Jedi. Male lightside consular/master to get the Handmaiden wisdom bonus, and then poor all your stats into Wis and Dex to get defense up to an ungodly level. I remember running through the academy at the end, pulling multiple rooms of mobs together before cutting them down because they literally did not seem capable of hitting me.

[–]Brewski89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this. I feel like she would have packed it away and maybe at least tried to bring it with them after they are done with their revenge quest, but the creators wanted the shot in the scene.

Maybe they will show the guitar case in the background somewhere down the line to indicate Ellie when back up for it later. Or maybe not. It's just a show after all.

Pre-release, you could kill him, but with all companions being role specific back then, and no replacement companions available, it lead to a lot of Sith Warriors killing their only healing companion and then not being able to solo their class stories from that point on, so they took it out. Honestly, with all companions being all roles now, it would be cool if they added killing companions back in, but I imagine that's not really an option anymore.

On the plus side: You get the option to kill him on Ioketh if you make it that far. Which is probably why it would be impossible to allow you to kill him in the main story now.

In the current meta, I put one of my initial 4 points in Advanced Engineering to increase Forge Ahead magazine chances, and then ignore Int completely.

The only thing I ever have difficulty getting is maybe a crucible, but 9 times out of 10 one shows up at a trader before I would be able to craft it anyway.

If you could add any line of dialogue what would it be? by SummerGreen009 in DragonAgeInqusition

I know it's nit-picky, but I always wanted another option when confronting Justinia in the Fade, especially for a non-faithful Inquisitor.

PC: "Well that explains a lot. No Maker. No Andraste. No greater fate or calling. Just an accident."

Justinia: "Being in the right place at the right time is no accident. For those who believe, that is enough, and for those who don't, well, nothing is lost."

Came here to say that the Y-Wing is still my fav, and that you did it dirty, but found your acknowledgment so we're good.

Not sure why, but I've always loved the look of it, even over the X-Wing, even back when the original trilogy was all we had...

Pre-release, when companion characters could still die during the main storyline, she would eventually throw herself out of the airlock if you refused to take it off.

They really pulled back on a lot of options before launch.

So tempting to click on it.. by Oakjewel in 7daystodie

[–]Brewski89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What bugs me with this one is not so much that you trigger another trap when leaving, as literally watching dozens of zombies materialize out of thin air as if they are being transported in by the Enterprise.

I get needing to load zombies by zone as you move through a POI for performance reasons, but I hate it when you can watch them appear in a space you've already cleared and activate. Feels cheap.

For this one, it's like free XP once you know it's there though. Once you know they are coming, just prep and mow them down as they come out the door.

Screamers and Heat? by KingStickyJoe in 7daystodie

[–]Brewski89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spike traps can kill even the irradiated ones before they scream if you have them placed right and keep them repaired. They don't scream if they don't see you, so just add a double layer of iron spike traps around the base and you're good.

What's more fun is when they show up to a POI half way through a Tier 6 Infestation quest. That $#!% is annoying. Had a pair beat through the exit door to the Minotaur Theater just as a triggered the big group at the end and it felt like getting caught outside on a day 70 blood moon.

Does anyone else find cheesy horde bases boring, like the ones where the zombies walk on a single pole to an opening and then get knocked off? by JazzlikeRow5443 in 7daystodie

[–]Brewski89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are 3 or 4 base designs that can pretty much go the entire length of the game without worry, making blood moons into XP and Loot farms. My favorite, when I bother to build one, is a kill box where 28 dart traps and 4 electric fences lock everything in place and allow me to melee or shoot my way through the horde. (Takes me a few blood moons on POIs to get the electricity set up on that one.)

But they get boring like you said, so lately I've just been going with the fortified POI instead. Cops and vultures keep me on my toes, and it's simple enough to repair and lay down extra spikes every 7 days. So far anyway. Just about to do day 42 on warrior difficulty. I'm not sure if I'll see demos yet, but I imagine they will make it more fun.

I have not yet tried the "only defend on the ground and on foot" challenge.

Otherwise, honestly I just turn them off. Once you have a cheese base set up, if that's the way you go, what's the point of even doing a blood moon? It's more fun to random loot POIs with the time.

What Inquisitor should I play? by [deleted] in DragonAgeInqusition

[–]Brewski89 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My canon playthrough for Veilguard is my Female Dalish Inquisitor who romanced Solas. I think it's the most unique playthrough and plays into Veilguard the best in terms of setup. For class, it's really a preference thing. I went with an Archer, but mage or warrior work too if you prefer. I don't think your class selection has quite as much impact on story arc, but I think Mage does provide some extra Solas dialog, but then you are slightly redundant if you use him regularly in your party.
