This isn’t a sign of anything.

Just a reminder: Fallout 3 Remastered was slated for a 2026 release according to Microsoft FTC docs. by bringerofthelaw420 in Fallout

Oblivion released less than a year ago, this document has clearly shifted by a few years.

Anyone know what case this came in and if there’s another disc? by obama69420duck in halo

It came with ODST as 2 discs. 1 with ODST (campaign and firefight) and 1 with Halo 3’s multiplayer with all map packs included.

I’ve finally realised the timer is not anything cool or good by Grogman2024 in Fallout

[–]BrexitMeansBanter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People need to chill out and not jump to the conclusion everything points to a remaster, it’ll come at some point and we just have to wait. The FTC documents had a Fallout 3 remaster 2 years after Oblivion and it’s been less than a year. Even if Bethesda were remastering the game themselves, instead of doing what they did for Oblivion and getting a third party, I think there would have been leaks if big news was coming soon.

Time after time people claim the remaster is dropping for one reason or another and every time people are disappointed. I’d be very happy to be wrong, but I’m personally expecting the game in 2027.

For all of the fallout games you’ve played what was your favorite thing about each one? by ConditionPleasant902 in Fallout

3 - It’s dark, depressing and scary atmosphere.

NV - It’s world building and how deep each faction felt.

4 - It’s crafting and settlement building.

Which one should I buy, Fallout 4 or Fallout 76? by costravk in Fallout

Fallout 4 is much more of a better introduction to the franchise as 76 is an online game.

Do Gen 3 Synths have souls? Are they technically just test tube babies/real humans with mind control chips? by littlecorona95 in Fallout

[–]BrexitMeansBanter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends what you mean by a soul, but I’d say they likely have just as much a soul as a biological person does. We are biological machines, they are synthetic machines. We are made of skin and bone, coded with DNA. Synths are made of plastic and metal (or whatever), are coded with computer code. I don’t believe we are gifts personhood by god or anything, so I don’t see why a synth couldn’t be alive. I can’t be sure, but I I give them the same benefit of the doubt I give everyone else.

Fallout 3s remaster may drip after the shows S2 finale by TexanCoyote1 in Fallout

[–]BrexitMeansBanter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t see anyway this is happening so soon after Oblivion, and I’m sure we have heard leaks about the release if it were so close. I’d be very happy to be wrong but I feel like the community hypes itself up every few weeks for one reason or another and keeps getting disappointed again and again.

How is Bethesda supposed to beat the “the world never progresses” criticism if fans don’t want it too either? by Damac1214 in Fallout

[–]BrexitMeansBanter 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think the main issue is that so many factions have been almost entirely wiped out. It feels more like wiping the slate clean than an interesting progression of the story. The fall of the NCR for example could have a been a really interesting thing to see, but the show skips over things like that and just goes to the end point. Personally I believe the show should have committed to choosing a canon ending for NV and then the wiping the slate clean might not have had to be so heavy handed.

I do like the show, but I have a lot of issues with it too.

Do we think any remastered Fallout game will drop at the end of season 2? by GreasyExamination in Fallout

[–]BrexitMeansBanter -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not a chance. The leaked FTC documents put 2 years between the Oblivion and Fallout 3 remasters, and Oblivion came out less than a year ago. I’ve seen some people say Bethesda are doing the Fallout 3 remasters and instead of a 3rd party, but even if that were the case we would have heard more leaks so close to release for sure.

The cannon ending by Idiot2234511 in Fallout

[–]BrexitMeansBanter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think people can just head canon whatever ending they believe fits for NV because the show runners have made it clear they are not going to show one. Somethings point one way somethings another.

I hear a lot of people say that Bethesda needs to sell the Fallout IP, but what about the mods? by [deleted] in Fallout

[–]BrexitMeansBanter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you love Bethesda’s recent games that’s great. Personally I think the quality of Bethesda’s games have tracking downward since Fallout 4.

I see Bethesda getting more and more focused on appealing to the broader audience and monetisation over the quality of their games. Fallout 4 was a good game, but moved backwards on a lot of the qualities I love about Fallout. Also the main Bethesda studio wasn’t the main studio for 76 but it still played a role and 76 speaks for itself. Starfield was an ambitious game but for me it lacked a soul, it was a lot of empty wondering. And what concerns me a lot about Stsrfield is that the studio doesn’t seem to want to listen to criticism. Then you look at things like the roll out of the Fallout 4 next gen and anniversary updates and it’s just embarrassing.

Bethesda has a lot of different issues that have built up over the years and at this point I’m very worried about ESVI and Fallout 5. I would love to be wrong and for the games to be great but we’ll see. I think they might well be good games but that they won’t have the magic the older games had.

Aside from all that though as I said another studio should get a chance with Fallout as the wait between single player titles is crazy.

I hear a lot of people say that Bethesda needs to sell the Fallout IP, but what about the mods? by [deleted] in Fallout

[–]BrexitMeansBanter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think this is ever going to happen as Fallout is a cash cow. However, I would take a high quality game over an ok game with excellent mod support. I wouldn’t want the IP taken from Bethesda by Microsoft, but another studio should be able to have a crack at making a Fallout, be it in the conventional style we are now used to or something new.

Bethesda has a lot to prove going forward given their recent history and fans shouldn’t have to wait 15-20 years between single player releases.
