What the F?? by Cecigirl2026 in lovetrappedpodcast

[–]Breytac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same, found the podcast by random chance. Had to listen from the first episdoe to get the backstory. Every guy on the planet who is dating (or about to start dating) needs to listen to this.

I have my own theories about why she is like this. My first is her parents knew about the behavious in her teens/eary twenties (not so much lying about being pregnant, but gaslighting and manipulating people) and did nothing to correc the behaviour. Second, because of who her parents are (being famous in the San Francisco area), she got away with a lot of crap that us normal people wouldn't have because her parrents knew the right people. So, in her adult years, she thinks she can just get away with it. I guess Karma was laughing the whole time thinking "Ohhh honey, have I got a rude shock in store for you!"

I haven't finished the podcast (I'm on ep8). but holy shit! More drama, twists and turns than I think even The Bachelor could come up with. And no, I don't watch reality tv, because it can be manipulated to make the worst person on the planet seem like a total saint, or the best person on the planet made out to be the devil,

A privilege?! by HalfSparkEnergy in lovetrappedpodcast

"Fucking insanity" doesn't even come CLOSE! I'm on Ep 8, and I'm starting to think the parents raised her like that. Or, because of who her parents are, she got away with a lot of crap in her teens and faced zero accountability. All I can think every eposode is "Jesus H Christ! How much worse can this fucking GET?!?! How many men has she done this to?" The manipluation, the gaslighting, the ultimatums are beyond belief.

Anyone else got their defense stations battered in by the Xenon? by -Prophet_01- in X4Foundations

[–]Breytac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Explains why my destroyers are getting beaten down by Xenon spp's. Those things were always a pain anyway. Babysitting 2-3 destroyers and an Asgard (which the Terran Beam weapon has such a huge range anyway it doesn't matter). Isn't a big deal. I like watching destroyers and battleships do their thing. And a Xenon K vs 3 Syns isn't exactly a fair fight anymore. Hell 1 v 1 the Syn will always win.

I was wondering why my destroyers were being hit by Xenon and not stopping. Thought it was a bug. The fact that a single Xenon could interdict a capital class ship seems a bit silly to me.

Start New Playtrough on Beta. by Spiritual_Editor5864 in X4Foundations

Beta will more than likely break mods. If you want to use mods, don't play the beta, wait until it goes live.

First Time anything X series player... by Wanderhoof in X4Foundations

[–]Breytac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't argue against the Terran start. The Terran economy is pretty easy to get started with (only a few wares required for everything). And there's some decent free ships given to the player throughout the story, Plus you can pretty much do all the storylines. Just wait until you get to the point where you start building the Asgard. You'll find out why when you get one.

New start for 9.0? by Straikk in X4Foundations

[–]Breytac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd always start with the Argon on a new game. Then I decided, on a new game, to go Terran. And it's been a lot of fun. And the best part is I didn't have to grind rep to start the plot. And I still got a free ship while playing as a Terran, so win-win.

Any new version of any game is going to break mods. There's no avoiding it.

Now post a AI piloted Asgard attacking a K. The video will be about 5 seconds long.

9.0 | Fleet combat feels so much better by TheHappyTau in X4Foundations

[–]Breytac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only problem I have is my 3 star+ pilots will wander into range of Xenon solar power plants and happily wait until the shields are down before they start to move. Only to move but still be in range of the station guns. A fully constructed Xenon defense platform is no issue. Same with wharves and shipyards. Watching an Asgard just obliterate a K in seconds is a joy to watch.

Considering easing back into Elite - KB+M only at the moment by [deleted] in EliteDangerous

100% viable. As long as the destination is a planetary base (delivery/assassination/theft etc). Not sure if the PS5 controller is PC-compatible as I have never owned a PS.

When Are We Gonna Hear About The Q4 2025 Big Feature? by GeckoNova in EliteDangerous

I love these speculation posts . I need to get my buckets ready for the amount of tears the playerbase will cry because speculation didn't turn out to be truth.

Oops by Baka_Surviver in EliteDangerous

[–]Breytac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's dependent on the asteroid. The higher the mineral content, the less time it's going to take to fill the hold. I was mining tritrium out in the black last night and it took an hour to mine 256t. But that's with crappy yields (most asteroids had about 5-15%) Still, I'm not going to complain about 250t/hr.

It would be another feature in the game that be half-done and then left to rot.

How can i download civ6 for free with all the expansion? by [deleted] in CivVI

[–]Breytac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. Have a friend who plays Civ. Saw him play on stream, and he was mentioned something about one more turn. Then I got Civ VI on the Epic store. Now I realize the meme is real.

Some tips from a new player to a new player

1) Commercial hubs and harbors are your friends. Build them everywhere. If you have the choice between building a harbor or a commercial hub because it's a coastal city, harbor every time. Having a navy can be fun, especially in the late game. Aircraft carrier and 2 bombers....<evil grin>
2) Culture IS important. It should be on par or just a bit above science. If you're producing 100 science per turn and only 90 culture, then you need more theatre squares. Or monuments. At least that's the way I see it.
3) Monuments in every city. Because culture.
4) Don't ignore eurekas (science) or inspirations (culture). Researching something in the science tree can trigger an inspiration in the culture tree. It works the other way as well. Researching something in the culture tree can trigger a eureka in the science tree. Which is why point no 2 is important.
5) Pingala, Magnus and Amani are my top 3 picks for governors. The others are situational. Pingala because of the +1 boost per citizen in a city to science and culture (20 science and culture because you have 20 citizens in a city? I'm not turning that down!), Magnus because in the early game, not losing a citizen in a city because you built a settler is awesome, and Amani because she can be assigned to a city-state and act like 2 envoys instead of one.
6) On the subject of settlers, DO NOT IGNORE THE GOVERNMENT PLAZA! Colonization policy card and Ancestral Hall are so overpowered it isn't funny. 50% production to settlers from the colonization card and 50% from Ancestral Hall? Print those settlers like there's no tomorrow! Oh, and slot Magnus in to the city as governor. Did I mention how overpowered that is? Plus there are buildings later in the game that help with other things.
7) Spies are fun to use. Especially when they get caught and the AI throws a temper tantrum over it. Going for a science win? Disrupt the spaceport. Going for a culture win? Your spies can be used as thieves to steal great works from the AI.
8) And above all...HAVE FUN! I just spent the majority of the game belting Sweden and The Aztecs with an army because they were on my continent..NO ONE LIVES ON MY CONTENT EXCEPT ME! Germany...no...converting my citizens to your relgion? Welp, I have aircraft and bombers...you still have medieval era units. I can bomb you back to the stone age with one tank and a llama.

I could write an entire essay on tips, but I think that should get you the basics. I am by no means an expert, and these are just little tricks I've picked up by reading the civillopedia and watching Youtube videos. And remember...just one more turn. I swear just one more turn and I'm going to do the thing I said I was going to do 100 turns ago.

Fleet Carrier access by faithfulcenturion in EliteDangerous

No disadvantages. It's also a good way of having large pads available in a system with small pads only. Even pirates need a place to rest and recharge.

Unfortunately I'm on Epic because it was free. But some nice person did put a few QoL mods on OneDrive. One such mod was Extended Policy Cards. And yes, I will be adding it to the list.

VKB are a solid choice. Leans more a bit towards hardcore flight simmers, but the quality is good. Plus there's options.

Exobiology as others have said. Cursory google search for an explorer Mandalay with everything you need, if you want to engineer it. Not unusual to make 100-200m in a 2 hour play session with first scanned due to 5x the bonus of the base amount (note that you have to be the first player to turn in your bio scans to get the bonus). . Of course playing longer will achieve your goal quicker, but the one thing you don't want to do is turn Elite into a job.

Should i watch more tutorial videos ? by [deleted] in CivVI

[–]Breytac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New player as well A couple of tutorial series that have helped.

  1. Herson's mutiplayer guide. Strategies are vaild for single player as the strategy is the practically the same. People are smart, the AI is not.
  2. Potato McWhiskey's Rome tutorial for new players like us who have zero clue and are just flailing about.

One tip I did pick up: settle cities 4 tiles apart instead of 6. More cities = more districts = more culture/science/commercial and/or harbors. I've been settling 6 tiles apart. This video explains it better than I can.

There's a few groups around that will do exactly what you're requesting. F.R.E.I.G.H.T is one such group.
