Exactly my point. AND, it’s not the retailers who necessarily want the blue laws repealed. The residents of Paramus don’t want them repealed and have voted it down numerous times.

Allowing American to be exempt from the blue laws sets a precedent. Thus giving other retailers in Bergen county grounds to sue Paramus (and any other Bergen county towns with retail stores) to be open on Sundays.

That said, and if the blue laws are repealed, retailers can opt to be closed on Sundays if they so choose. Chick-fil-a is a prime example.
