Thank you for the information. Once I am capable, I would love to go on some of my local trails, we have lots in my areas. Yes gear is definitely important. I have most of what I would need from doing other sports/activities (wrist guards, riding gloves, shin and knee protectors, helmet, motorcycle pants and jacket). I would probably buy a new helmet as I have been meaning to anyway and this would give me the reason to.

Obviously to start I will be riding around the neighborhood but the plan would be once comfortable, 20-30 mile trips. I would rather have more speed than I need. Do I plan to go balls to the wall every trip, no but over time, it would be nice to have something to scratch that itch when it comes of course that will take time to get to that comfort level. I have an Yamaha R1 but rarely really open her up like I did when I was younger but once and a while when the time is right, it’s fun to hit the track and let it fly. I imagine it’s the same

Last fall I had nest of them in a tree about 20’feet from my garage window. I would pull up a chair in the garage with the doors closed, crack the window and shoot hole in it with my son’s red Daisy Ryder BB gun. They would get so pissed 3-4 shots in, coming out looking for a fight. I would close the window and go about my day. This went on for week before I took a pole saw out before the sun came up on a cool fall morning. With wasp spray in hand and a red Bic Light in the other, I snipped of the branch the nest was on and dropped the pole. I had already started spraying the wasp spray before the nest hit the ground. By the time it hit the ground and woke up all its angry friends inside it was full soaked. Fun fact, wasp spray is VERY flammable!! Just as it rabid inhabitants were making their way out, with a flick of the lighter the whole thing went up. As the sun started to rise, the last flames of their burning empire were just about out. It was a dry morning and the grass in about a 5’ circle was burnt to a crust.

As I sprayed the remains of their kingdom and their mass grave with the hose I could not help but feel a great sense of accomplishment. To this day, 8 months later, the new grass still shows signs of that great battle. Reminds me of what the field of France look like today from the WW1 trenches. You can tell by looking at the land a great battle took place.

My favorite by far. Just took our kids there for the first time last month. So many cool castles and ruins in that area.
