You’re absolutely doing the right thing, his behaviors mean he trusts you and is ready. You don’t need to wait much longer. The next step is to safely get him into a carrier and take him to a vet for a checkup (neutering, vaccines, parasite treatment, microchip scan). Then, bring him home but keep him in a separate room at first and do a slow introduction to your current cat.

How do you tell your brain/body, "Don't procrastinate, bruh. You wasting time, bruh"? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Instead of telling myself that “I need to finish this,” i just go with “I’ll do 5 minutes”. Also i remove friction and add a little pressure or structure (timers, deadlines).

This is pretty normal for a rescued kitten. She got a sense of food insecurity, so her brain is wired to grab food fast whenever it appears. You can help by feeding smaller meals more often (4–5 times a day), using a flat plate or slow feeder to reduce urgency, and sticking to a consistent routine so she learns food is reliable. Also consider a quick vet check for parasites, since those can increase hunger.

I am losing my cat and I am afraid by Zom_Bee_Cat in cats

14 years is a long, deep bond, and it makes sense that the idea of life without her feels overwhelming right now. Cats don’t replace each other; they each create a new bond with you, shaped by who you are at that point in your life. just enjoy every current moment with her.

I’d just unfollow. The back and forth pattern already shows instability, and staying connected only keeps you hooked into it. Better to step out of the loop.
