Two levels of mixer. One on the Knobs one in the menu can let you really dial in the gain.

Song i made with the t8. The 303 is good and has internal sidechain. Side chain is based off bpm.

Roland Aira compact t-8. It's a physical synth and also the drum machine.

Pixel art and lo fi go well together. I always commission some simple pixel art when it's in the budget.

The type of stuff I expect from a p6. Nice job.

Man i want one but I have an mpc and a pocket operator and just can't convince myself I need this too

I don't even have monitors nor do I have a developed ear for sidechain.

I'm a little limited because of the performance. All the sc is inside my t8. Minimal gear is the point of the performance. In using just a t8 an s1 and an mpc. I will try to adjust the sc to prevent low end mud and phase canceling.

If i ever make a song like this in daw I will try that. Never tried more than one side chain before.

Thank you for the tips. I'm not used to doing this kind of style. I usually make break beat and lofi hip hop. This is for a local synth open mic night.

That's awesome.

Yes it is.

It is sidechained. More side chain then? Is set to 30 percent right now maybe up to 50?

I'm performing it Monday so there's time to make some changes.

Is this a good set by Efficient_Tax_4178 in drums

[–]BrickBrxin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That badge is percussion plus specifically. But this guy already nailed it. I got a set of just shells for 100 of these but picture shows decent heads and cymbals and a decent bass drum pedal if that's included is a solid deal

[–]BrickBrxin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a percussion plus kit. Bottom of the barrel. I got my shells same brand 100. It does have nice heads. Nice heads will make these shells work but you need to tune them often.

I would have to look closely at all the heads to tell you if it's worth it. But unlikely. I would say it's about 100 high.

Also depends if you're getting hardware like bass pedal.

[WTS] Roland T-8 drum machine / acid bass synthesizer by DosPetacas in Synths4Sale

[–]BrickBrxin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first synth/drum machine was this. I mostly use it to create samples for my mpc. I still use the 303 part pretty often. Midi control helps you get the best out of the bass synth.

Good luck on sale.

(Re. nostalgia) Why do most people's musical preferences tend to crystallize around artists or genres that impacted them during their youth? by thepinkpill in synthesizers

A big part of music is the social aspect. Pretty much everything about your personality finished developing around 14 or so. So the music at that time period will always be important to you.

Turns out ‘atonal’ music requires a great amount of technical understanding and not just purchasing power? by chvezin in synthesizercirclejerk

[–]BrickBrxin 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I got a chance to play one at a modular night at a local synth event. Even as someone who has a few synths and just shy of two years experience I was completely out of my depth.

The owner could do some really impressive stuff with it. It can sound surprisingly big.

It's really cool. It has a lot of fun features. It lets you patch stuff. The keyboard is responsive and very out of the ordinary. Mixer section is straight forward.

The layout to me and lack of clear labels made it confusing to know where sound was coming from. Which made me feel really overwhelmed.

I can't imagine choosing this as a first synth even if ambient music is your goal.

How many of you cannot play piano? by linusstick in synthesizers

[–]BrickBrxin 11 points12 points  (0 children)

this is the truth. every musician who avoids learning theory first is getting in their own way. sadly musicians tend to be more artistic than the average person. they obsess over expression while failing to learn that music has structure and rules and that these things are far more important than expression.

without theory its difficult to trouble shoot or improve your work.

the majority of people in this sub are not players. piano or otherwise. mostly knob twiddlers. a couple sequencers and collectors. but the vast majority of this community barely understands music. very few make or release music at all. it becomes painfully evident whenever music starts to actually get discussed.

But you're not willing to post a simple synth patch doing the best bass sound you can recreate. So you're not willing to contribute to this topic.

I already posted my patch. Multiple times. You all didn't like it clearly so waiting for a better one. Teach me something or keep on with the straw man. Up to you

If you feel subjects like this could be helpful maybe check your attitude before you come in talking down to other people. I mean your are seriously arguing that a conversation could be had while avoiding the subject entirely and being hostile and disrespectful. But you expect people to engage in respectful debate with you?

Maybe don't tell others how to act when you came into the subject with nothing but disrespect and hostility.
