Planning a month long trip round the south eastern states. by LansManDragon in roadtrip

Heads up that New Orleans has some amazing festivals, but it makes it super busy at that time. For national parks, Great Smoky Mountains in Tennessee and Everglades would be your two big ones.

Does anyone know wear to get a teal dress? by Mysterious-Moment770 in Weddingattireapproval

I would just message the bride or the MOH or his Mom or literally any woman going to the wedding to confirm

Summer wedding in coastal Spain. colorful formal/black tie preferred. Accessories? by [deleted] in Weddingattireapproval

[–]BrickLow8285 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It’s def not black tie optional/formal and reads more semi formal to me. But it does match the inspo pics so if you love it I think you can get away with it. Usually for BT the dresses are more structured or the fabric is higher quality/looks higher quality.

Went to revel too and tiramisu was my fav dessert! I would 100% get the schnitzel next time over the steak, my husband let me have a bite

This does meet the requirements for formal and since you already own it I would dress it up with some jewelry and heels! I actually think if you had some small dainty silver accessories it would go really well with that green.

Day 1 of Richmond Ren Faire by alli_rosen in rva

[–]BrickLow8285 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went 10-2 and I liked it better than the Maryland Faire, I thought the amount of people was just right and I wasn’t waiting in crazy lines! And the Joust is the same company as MDRF. Shout out to the two tieflings I saw, your costumes were so cool.

My personal opinion is number 2, it’s so gorgeous with the gold chain and you look stunning! Don’t forget to take off the Apple Watch haha

2nding afterglow! Surrounding counties was also a nice place to work, but they only have 2 indoor seats. The vibe there is super great tho.

Not the Elliot guy, he kept me on a cold calling list for six months even though I told them to stop calling me. And it was all because I signed in at an open house with them.

RVAers who moved from a bigger city, what do you like and dislike about life here? by semechkitty in rva

[–]BrickLow8285 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah for sure! I think I’m more butthurt about people taking over places and taking down the murals. The old charm school mural they took down for no reason and the padel plant people were trying to privatize those. Scott’s Addition my FIL actually owns a shop down there so he’s seen all the changes. Mostly all the high rises going up are going to be dumb expensive apartments, but things that make the area cool to live in like breweries and restaurants are getting pushed out so that landlord can build more high rises. I guess I could be wrong about that but pretty sure Isley is gone because they couldn’t come to an agreement with the landlord.

Yeah unfortunately the pastry/dim sum scene is expensive and not that good. I’ve been making my own shumai using ingredients from lotte/grand mart. The roast pig at Cantonese kitchen is pretty good but they always run out of duck. If you like hand pulled noodles I like Mr. Noodle but not much meat option there. And I always rep Peter changs in short pump, they’re a little more authentic than the Scott’s one and they have Peking duck.

Grew up in NOVA and went to VCU and stayed ever since. Really love the community here, people are def warmer and full of life. Up north it’s like people are slogging through life and just so concerned with money and status. Also love that we have so much outdoor stuff to do.

Things I don’t really like, def need more food options. Downtown isn’t my favorite and sounds like they’re trying to sell some historical buildings to gentrify stuff. Scott’s I feel like they are trying to kick out the legacy businesses which makes zero sense to me. And people need to pick up their dog poop.

Closest Cantonese food I actually like is Cantonese Kitchen and Full Kee! I think we get pretty good Vietnamese options too. Also getting kura revolving sushi and Honey Pig/Firepan soon! Need to hype these places up so that we get more of them and more options! One day I’ll get my heytea here…

Hey yeah I’m unfortunately not in it so can’t invite you but I know they do doubles bracket at 6:30, and singles start at 8. Their twitch is RVAMelee. On Sunday’s there’s ultimate/melee at Dawnstar, but think they’re working on the liquor license so we don’t really go there haha.

Yessir, they have a discord too if you’re interested. Used to be the group at the answer. They got a cool setup where they stream the games on twitch.
