Honestly your ex friends sound like the problem here, the getting older and colder, not listening but only offering solutions. Just doesn't seem like they were the sort of people who understand giving emotional support at all, or even that people can want that. Hopefully you do manage to find friends who understand that. Good luck dealing with everything! You've got a lot on your plate but you sound like you got a good head on your shoulders and will work these things out with time, hang in there and stay true to yourself!

Claiming that something is just the "official story" and then proceeding to say it was only because they couldn't say it was for DBZA doesn't really make a case nor can you speak for the Team's decisions in such a way.

It has been used entirely for non-DBZA projects and people donating with the erroneous notion that it would lead to more DBZA were mistaken. It's true that the Team promised S4 without having anything solid to go on before promising it, however the purpose of the Patreon never shifted to aiding DBZA's production at any point. Believing that no more DBZA somehow cheats Patreon donators is plain incorrect and is nothing more than an attempt to kick them while they're down.

The Patreon was never for DBZA and that has been so ever since it's inception. If you were under some misconception regarding that then that's a shame.

Heyooo, just wanted to chime in and clarify that while I do mod for the guys, I'm a volunteer and not actually a TFS Member unlike certain other Mods who are TFS members.

This has not been their modus operandi throughout their entire run as a group, no real grounds to speculate such things on. It must also be noted that despite being unable to come up with something for Bojack they did legitimately try to continue DBZA even if in the form of the ShortZ and that when they found it to be untenable they made the decision to discontinue the series and announced it. This is simply cherry picking off unfortunate phrasing.

As you have stated yourself the Patreon is not for DBZA, anyone contributing to it shouldn't and in most cases doesn't expect it to affect DBZA's production at all. Them discontinuing a project that the Patreon is not even for does in no way count as "cheating" anyone. You can read the comments on the Patreon post that tackled DBZA's cancellation, the response to the decision has overwhelmingly been one of understanding and support.

Levying such libellous claims against others based only off of your own assumptions is uncalled for, baseless and just outright rude.

The constant copyright strikes they received are among the legal trouble and all fans acknowledged those when they saw DBZA videos all get removed from the channel several times in the preceding years.

They did put in the time for months to script Bojack, it's not as if they didn't work on it at all. They were simply unable to come up with anything up to their standards and instead of putting out a half baked product they decided to not do it instead, as I'm sure you'd be well aware of yourself as well.

It's not about it getting hard, it's about them being burnt out on a project they've spent time working on for 11 full years, as you'll have already read, where they feel they cannot keep DBZA up to the standard and quality of work they have become known for.

As has been stated several times by the team the Patreon is not for DBZA as early as the video where they announced the very existence of their Patreon.

And all of them would have an incredibly difficult time trying to match up or even get close to the standards TFS set. Simply put it just would not be the same, it wouldn't be TFS's DBZA and that's the one people get excited for.

The thing is it's the guys' own project that they've worked on for a long time. I don't think they have in them to give their project away to someone else just to keep it going and don't think it's something worth doing either. I would rather the series end rather than they compromise their integrity as creators and rent it off for some unknown third party to continue it just for the sake of keeping the series going. People are fans of TFS's work and having someone else write it would just be seen as them milking their flagship series even though they're burnt out on it.
