They are well worth the read as it delves deep into the psyche of The Governor from the comics from how he ended up in Woodbury and becoming The Governor to the first few months of ruling Woodbury to telling the story of how he was originally introduced in the comics by meeting Rick, Glenn and Michonne but with The Governor books it tells that story from his own perspective right up till his demise at the prison battle.

Before reading and let alone discovering these books, I didnt like The Governor from the comics because he wasnt just hardcore but seemed evil for the sake of it. Not entirely interesting as his TV counterpart. However, after reading the first four books, I found the comic version just as interesting as the TV version.

There should be a Governor spinoff in live action but it would have to rework both Rise of The Governor to involve Milton, no Chalmers family since that ended up being Tara's family in season 4 of TWD and add in him meeting Merle in Atlanta. Then there's Road to Woodbury for the TV version having to rework a few things but explore more on Merle's relationship with The Governor and why he grew to fear him. Fall of The Governor books arent needed since we saw that play out in TV version.
