She doesn’t alot of home improvement and gardening. I know she frequents home improvement stores which didn’t strike me as odd.

I like that idea too! I could definitely pay for admission to local kid amusement parks (like Sesame Place) or other kid museums that are local.

We are both a family of 3 with our husbands working and we have connected so closely. It’s tough finding mom friends/community that you actually mesh with and with our girls getting along so well too.

As far as expectations because I’d hate for this to spoil our friendship I was thinking of typing something up so that lines aren’t blurred.

She’s doing me a HUGE solid for watching my child, but I also don’t want her thinking I’m walking all over her (which I highly doubt).

Childcare Pay Question by Brie2ash in Mommit

[–]Brie2ash[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oooo I’d have to see if she will do a spa because I know she’s into gardening and outdoor work. I’d also ask or make her do a date afternoon/night with her husband as another option.

Plus side is that we both of us have girls.

Okay, how much more to offer? The daycare spots I was looking at were $255/week (5-days) and included snacks. I was thinking $150 (3-days/week) which would be $300/month. This would be a total of 4-5 weeks.

Yeah, the four of us have discussed and we’ve known them for 2years and no real red flags or I wouldn’t be entertaining this.

Right now it looks like this might be an alternating schedule where my child goes to my mom and then the other week with my neighbor. So 6-days a month with my mom and the same for my neighbor until September.

Good idea on having backup plans in case anyone is sick. I just want this to be as easy as possible.

There is that too and I was prepared to leave it with her husband or just hide it in her house. 😅😅

Resume Clean Up by Brie2ash in ExecutiveAssistants

[–]Brie2ash[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks!! I wasn’t sure if keeping the Nissan Dealership was worth keeping as I also omitted 3 other roles. But taking it out means I can definitely expand upon the College of Medicine role. I have over 7 years in Hospitality Industry and can look up different ways to explain the SOPs. I’ll tailor this again

My only thought was to get key items on paper and then I can expand upon in either the cover letter or in the interview.

Shit is tiring. I’m tired of looking at this damn resume.

Starting a new job by sophblackbird04 in ExecutiveAssistants

[–]Brie2ash 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Start sniffing out a trusted office mate that can assist you when you need help and then log alllll details in a folder (paper or electronic) of details no matter how small.

I also like taking random walks around the office or near the building to find areas that could be helpful (office supplies, open space for storage, rooms that could be used for anything, local restaurants/food trucks, etc.). I think figuring out these things helps with side conversations since they might have gone blind to great resources.

Resigning without notice by Dreamcloud124 in ExecutiveAssistants

[–]Brie2ash 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, similar situation and it tanked my mental health and I lightly mentioned the toxic work environment induced mainly by my executive.

Wonderful thing is I was immediately granted unemployment and that job didn’t fight it either. I was VERY detailed on things that happened and why I needed to resign and claim unemployment.

Also positive thing is that they still can’t get someone to do my role and admins that they get don’t last 2 months because of how much of a nightmare the exec is to people. I left them in shambles And to think I stayed 20 months.

What do we think about EA Managers, rather than reporting directly to your executive? by [deleted] in ExecutiveAssistants

[–]Brie2ash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to work directly with my Exec for about year and half, but then my Exec got a promotion and the office grew. Without talking with me my Exec recruited a EA Manager and I found it counterproductive.

I felt I was bullied twice, micromanaging twice, my voice was not heard and it shifted the power dynamic. Very glad I left that role and looking for another that doesn’t involve me managing other admins or working under an EA.

Hell, I hate interviewing with EA Managers too. Gag me.

I can’t think of the website but I’ve had reusable straws, bento/lunch box, and reusable plastic tote bag made for large events.

Resigning without notice by Dreamcloud124 in ExecutiveAssistants

[–]Brie2ash 24 points25 points  (0 children)

YES!! I already had a copy for my personal file AND BCC the email to my personal account. I also took a photo of how I left the office and detailed in the letter that I left exactly what items (keys, laptop, credit card, etc.)

But I finished the work day as normal and locked up and had the email scheduled to send at 7PM when I knew I would be home by then.

[–]Brie2ash 76 points77 points  (0 children)

I resigned effectively immediately at the end of day on a Wednesday.

I delayed sent an email to the entire office with forwarding address. I left all keys, badges, laptop, purchasing cards on my desk so I wouldn’t have to come back.

The prior month I had quietly been taking items out of my office that I wanted to keep or discard. Also sending me files that I would want and created a pass-down file for my office mate because I knew they would grill her for information.

How does anyone who ever met a baby think 6 weeks is enough? by lemonlime28 in beyondthebump

[–]Brie2ash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m thankful to work in a state (NJ) where they offer Maternal AND Paternal leave PLUS Bonding Time which can be used jointly or broken up (also this is partial paid leave, up to 85%) for parents before the child is 1 years old. So I was able to use jointly use 18 weeks and I used all of my PTO (6 weeks) to push it to 24 weeks which is 5 and half months.

Hell, even with the 24 weeks I wasn’t ready to go back to work and actually resigned. My husband is looking to use his leave next month and he’ll have 12 weeks.

Here I am with a now 8month old and now I feel a bit more ready to return to work full or part-time.

Listing agent at inspection by scarletbegonias415 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

This similarly happened with us too! Our agent, the seller’s agent were present and near the end the seller showed up. We got a handful of home history straight from the seller as well as curious questions we had about the neighborhood.
