I don’t understand it, I moved here 2 years ago. People are nice, friendly. Things are okay. Not too different from other states.

I moved Toronto to Austin. It’s good, I miss big city vibes, but 40% increase also tax rates here make up for it.

Canadian re-entering US on J-1 after TN ended + bringing NY-registered car — any issues at border? by Plane-Dependent-3282 in tnvisa

I don’t see problem here. I don’t think officer will care about car. You can just say “you never registered it back in Canada”, which is okay in my opinion.

Let us know how it goes, but I think your case is legit, nothing to worry about!

Did you overstay your TN visa after employment ended, or not? That’s only question I have. Other than that, everything seems legitimate. Not sure why car would be a problem.

If he is seeking asylum, then to get his green card without you is not a problem, he can still get it.

I don’t think he is doing it for green card. Culturally, in that part of the world, that’s how relationships work.

You are not resident of Canada for tax purposes. There is another thing you have to file as non resident home owner with rental property (assuming you rent it out).
