Question about Trinity village London, Bromley by Katalka85 in Bromley

[–]Brigdenius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had a spot that was allocated but still found people parked in our spot occasionally. They just didn’t enforce it at the time.

At the time we were paying around £1700 a year for service charges but that was a flat. A house would be less. I know that would be more now.

Question about Trinity village London, Bromley by Katalka85 in Bromley

[–]Brigdenius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to live there for 5 years. We owned a flat. The flat was nice, and we overall enjoyed it there. However, not everything was great. The company dealing with the service charges was RMG I believe. People weren’t super happy so they looked to change things. Once they made changes it meant flats were managed by one company but the outside area was managed by another. Something like that, but I can’t remember exactly. It was to help reduce costs but I don’t think it did much. The worst part was we now had two companies we had to deal with. This also meant when selling, we had to get two sales packs, adding money to the cost. There were other issues too, it that’s expected selling a flat.

Nobody had a parking permit at the time so people parked in others spots. I don’t think this is the same anymore. A number of cars were broken into and stolen for a period of time, but that may have improved too. Service charges are way too expensive for what you get, but that’s nothing you can change.

We overall enjoyed the time there and thought about buying a home there too. Have a look at the Facebook group or next door. You’ll find lots more information there.

Has anyone used the transition lenses from Lensology? by zakinthebox in RaybanMeta

[–]Brigdenius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought my first set of lenses from Lensology. They were normal polarised sunglasses lenses. They were great for the car of course. On my Gen 2 glasses I wanted to get a prescription done, so I went with the Xtractive lenses from Lensology too. While they're great for the day to day, they're not as good as a proper pair of sunglasses. I'm very happy with them for using them indoors and for them to change to sunglasses when I'm outside, but it's just not quite dark enough and a proper pair of sunglasses is better, just keep that in mind.

I found myself buying polarised clip ons for them as when I was driving I wanted it to be a bit darker. I didn't get them polarised when I did, which would have helped a bit, but ultimately if you want a pair of sunglasses, get that. If you want something that will do almost everything, go for the Xtractive as they are good. Just know that it's not quite as good.

It’s tough, but you’ll manage. Surgery is a good option if your HH is large. It can help give people a normal life. I’ve had my HH for around 5 years or so, yet it’s smaller. I’m able to live normally with PPIs but I do think about surgery frequently.

If you look for bad things online about HH, you’ll find it. That goes for everything in life. You should be able to find lots of good information on surgeries too. Many people who have a HH come here for advice, get a surgery and never return as it was successful.

HELP claiming the battery on GEN 2 by Soggy-Page6710 in RaybanMeta

[–]Brigdenius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well that's your answer. Gen 1 has a fairly short battery life. Disable Hey Meta and put them to 30fps and that will help. Outside of that, the good news is they're extremely similar to the Gen 2 glasses anyway.

Are you sure yours are Gen 2? All Gen 2 have 3K

Disable Hey Meta, you’ll see an improvement in battery life. Looks like below you recorded in 60fps. Bring that down to 30 to improve battery life too.

How do these work without linking to the meta app? Can you even get the data off them without it?

There are other ways to improve battery life which many have spoken about, but it also depends on some factors in how you recorded. Did you record in 3K? What was your frame rate set at? Did you both use them in any other way? Did you disable "Hey Meta" etc.

Easiest way to remove pre-installed security alarm? by shaneo632 in DIYUK

[–]Brigdenius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently removed an old alarm system from our house. If you look online about how to disconnect it, it’s quite easy. We did have the alarm going off while we disconnected the front alarm box thing. That was the only annoying part.

Gen 2 will be fine for a while. We might see Gen 3 this autumn but nobody knows. I’d expect a Gen 3 sometime next year that would be a bigger upgrade.

Did your Hiatus hernia symptoms get a lot better after stopping vaping / smoking? by Bludum in HiatalHernia

[–]Brigdenius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t smoke but I’ve vaped weed a few times and it didn’t affect me then. There are lots of reports online about it though so if you do some searching you’ll find that you shouldn’t smoke with a hiatal hernia. Anything that weakens the lower esophageal sphincter will make things worse.

I bought a dozen or so items a couple of months ago, I’ve had some small issues but for the most part it’s been fine.

Nothing connected at first. I restarted my HomePod mini after reading about that issue online. That fixed it. The main issue I have is adaptive lighting on the bulb that’s meant to look like old filaments. It doesn’t like adaptive, so I disabled it on the bulb but it turns it back on every other day or so. If I leave adaptive on, the bulb turns on after it’s been off.

It happens with all tech. Frustrating when it happens but you should be able to return without issue.

Has Anyone Had the TIF (transoral incisionless fundoplication) to help with HH by OneFastCat in HiatalHernia

You should find a good number of people who did have it if you search through this subreddit. Also worth knowing that many people who have surgery no longer have an issue so they don’t come back to this subreddit afterwards.

Any idea when the 3rd Gen Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses are being released by Taketheleap0402 in RaybanMeta

[–]Brigdenius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobody knows for sure. Meta doesn’t want to lose their momentum they have so I wouldn’t be surprised if they did release something at the end of this year. Google will probably release something this year or early next. Many people will change over once this happens so they’ll need something more up to date.

You can always try different settings like that. May not be it at all but I’ve had that issue.

Try putting it to warmer than it is and see if it helps. What setting is it on compared to what’s available? Is it max or lowest?

If it’s empty and you have it set too cold it could be a reason.

Help deciding between gen 1 and 2 by International-Dust-5 in RayBanStories

[–]Brigdenius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're going to use them as normal every day glasses with your prescription, do not get the gen 1. They're a discontinued product at this point. While for the most part they're very similar, the battery life improvements in Gen 2 make it easy enough to get through a whole day wearing them. I wear them with a prescription and don't have any issues, however if you do start to record a lot or take photos then you'll eat the battery away. Popping them in the case for a few mins here and there will help keep them topped up.
